1972bmac you cannot compare an 29cc engine with this power setup, if you see this parts in action you will stamp your gas engine in garbage and buy the mgm and lmt, thats for sure✊️

Yeah the prices here are just not worth it. Well crafted and good products, there’s no denying that, but it is a huge waste of money if you just want honest performance.

That being said, if you don’t have a problem shelling out extra cash, this setup is guaranteed to be more reliable and so you’re paying for that peace of mind that nothing will catastrophically fail, and if it does, you’ll be covered by warranty.

i like the support of mgm compro, the high end manufactured products and the performance of this setup, i dint think its waste of money🤣

Separate battery pack with switch is easiest solution. Or use a large BEC.

I've only ever heard of people complaining of the high price of the MGM components, but never of the quality or the customer service. I own one brushless 5ive (purchased fully built) with the TMM 40063 and plan on putting the same unit in the 5ive I'm building now. The all come with a 3 to 5 year warranty and unmatched customer service. On the other hand, some people call Castle Creations by the nickname "Castle Cremations" due to their propensity to burst into flames. I happened to be at the store when a guy had his buggy go up in flames instantly when they plugged in the batteries. Also, the 5-T is over the weight limit for the XL2 (25 pounds for 4wd and 30lbs for 2wd) and the XL2 can only take up to 8s before you void the warranty.

I dont want to spend that much money on a esc that isnt made in north america. the esc and motor cost more than a roller 5ive. To me that doesnt make any god damn sense.

NFG Nugent I can understand not wanting to spend a thousand dollars for a ESC. I grew up in the Toledo/Detroit area, and I understand what outsourcing can do to a local economy, so I get the made in the USA thing. That said, I want the very best quality components in my build. In this case, that isn't a product made in the USA. For the price of the setup I'm installing, I could actually buy two rollers. MGM and Lehner are definitely top of the line. Independent of all of that, the Castle XL2 is still problematic for the 5ive due to the weight of the truck, and the amount of power you're limited to. My built truck with the custom 2028 850kV (45,000 RPM) motor and 40063 is set up to run on 12s now. I'm not pooping on Castle, but MGM is a superior product if you can bring yourself to part with the cash.

I agree Castle is not suited to push this large scale. In fact castle is best suited for 1/8 and under. As far as Castle goes they are not made in the USA. They contract Hobbywing (Hong Kong) to manufacture their ESC's and motors are made in China. So being made in USA is not going to help you win your argument.

Wrong, Esc's are made in the US and the motors are made in china

These motors dont make much torque but they make up with rpm. 20hp is actually a reasonable figure for this motor.
