I’ve bought a good few rifles from you guys and the vetterli I received was in astonishingly great shape. 100% bluing and no cracks. To those of you on the rocks about the vetterlis I say go for it

Some people like to keep these in their original condition for "historical aesthetics", but I personally love the thought of completely stripping the wood and metal and then giving it a fresh coat of bluing and lacquer.

I must be addicted to ULI and RTI. I have now bought five Carcano carbines from him. Now I am adding a vetterli. I wanted to wait until next month but I couldn't. I had to buy it now. ULI thank you so much for doing what you do and bringing us these wonderful rifles.

I bought a Vetterli 1870/87/15 and a 1870/87 Moschetto TS and was very happy with what I got. They needed a little cleaning but both have beautiful stocks and nice bores.

I use about 60 load and I've put about 200 rounds already. Sweet rifle!!!! I love it

You are taking a real risk shooting a rifle designed for a low pressure black powder cartridge and shooting higher pressure smokeless rounds through it. The Vetterli was used as a secondary rifle for support troops to free up Carcano for frontline troops. The only difference between Italy and the other countries is they made ammo for their obsolete calibers..Ask a gunsmith, how safe it is,and have it checked for metal fatigue.

@@royaltigerimports Really, I'm assuming you guys already went to India and asked but, how'd the conversations go. I'm genuinely curious. Heck, I'm curious how you guys made the deal with the people in Ethiopia to get these surplus rifles here. The whole process just sounds like it would be an interesting video talking about the process of locating and purchasing these caches of surplus rifles.

I have seen a lot of people pissed because they paid for a shooter and the barrels are shot out with bad pitting and little to no rifling though they sent it back and got a shooter or where waiting for new rifle to be sent. I seen one guy pull his rifle out of the box and it was all cleaned up he was impressed and i thought oh no he has got one that was sent back, and whoever they sent it to had done a descent clean. He inspected and cleaned the barrel to no avail i have never seen such a bad boar!! When he ordered there where 7 left in that grade so he has decided to try to find a barrel for it. So if you are wanting more than a wall hanger don't bother to clean it till you clean the boar and inspect the rifling!!

lambastepirate sir. The rifles are safe to shoot. The customer did not order a hand select one. If he would have done this he would have gotten a nice bore. Shooter means they are safe to shoot. Hand select bore means a nice bore. This is why we specify. To expect a like new gun for $350.00 is really unrealistic. We have videos of our guns for everyone to see the condition. If the “upset customer” will contact us we will be more than happy to upgrade him for the hand select fee. I hope this clears up the situation. We make videos to show exactly to customers what they will get. Thanks for your comment.

Nah, they were converted from black powder and need a really weak load

Reduced loads are recommended however I doubt that they used reduced loads in Africa when these were used. Have it inspected by a gun smith and ask a reloader to make some rounds that are reduced with the proper powder that CAN be reduced by 60 percent of minimum. The issue with factory loads is that you are trusting they will not be over charged

If its in good shape yes. But is have a gunsmith check it first. And avoid .267 bullets.

Tried to contact them on their website. Doesn’t work. Tried calling for the last three days. Line busy. Left message on their answering machine. No call back.I thought to myself that these guys seem just as bad as IO. Then it hit me. Same guys. Can’t build a AK right. And can’t look down a barrel to check rifling. Because a lot of them are Junk. It’s all about making money.
