Never understood being a OO, after my years of driving and seeing what company spends on stuff no way.. I live central minnesota, work 4 longer days a week and made 105k before taxes last year and get a new truck every 2 to 3 years, could never get me to be a owner operator now and days.

I prefer the freedom of being an owner operator. That's why I do it. I can work when I want to and don't have to ask for time off.

Cant run anywhere in texas during the day anymore except out west once you get west of i35 alot of the bottom feeder carriers kinda clear out and you can move

Yeah, 35 south of San Antonio to Loredo. I've never had so many trucks pass me and swing the back end of their trailer almost to hitting me.

Hey Cash, I ran Loredo to Ardmore, OK, just north of DFW a couple of fridays ago. In San Antonio get off the 35 and connect over to 281 N until you get just south of FW and connect back over to 35. Barely any traffic and not many trucks on the highway. You skip a lot of the riff raff and enjoy a nice country drive.

they defiantly have freight. maybe just not in your area. I know a broker who books their loads and he gets enough loads everyday to have a team of guys under him booking them.

@ismaelgarza9455 Paccar motors are not reliable long-term. I've seen them constantly break down. Not a well constructed motor when over 400k miles.

Question Cash, I know you use multiple fuel apps and cards. Do you do your own IFTA as well? I am done using the carrier issued fuel card. They did tell me I would probably have to do my own IFTA. Just curious. I’m researching how to do IFTA now. Thanks

Filing IFTA is very simple after a couple of quarters doing it. Don't be afraid. You'll be fine.
