About Klay Thompson's record: they pulled him after he got the record to avoid injuries for the rest of the game. So effectively he did it in less that 3/4's of a full game, which is even crazier.

There's more to Usain Bolt's record than just the time. Tobi said Bolt has a rubbish start, well Bolt actually ran the first 60m in what would've been a world record in that distance too, in 6.31s. Bolt also hit a top speed of over 47kmph between the 60m and 80m marks. This was as close to a perfect race as he ever ran in big competition.

Isn't 60m like more than half the race? Also I think what Tobi meant was that for the first couple of seconds he was pretty much neck and neck with everyone else, so his "start" wasn't quite world record.

When he says rubbish he isnt its actually bad. But, compared to others, his start isnt great. There were some championships I remember watching were his reaction time was almost double the fastest guy on that race. Bolt still won.

Interestingly, Inessa Kravets is no longer the women's triple jump world record holder. The record is now 15.67m, pulled off last year by Yulimar Rojas at the Tokyo Olympics.

I love how they ask every time how someone starts doing pole vaulting. Not all high schools, but many high schools offer pole vaulting in track and field programs after school as an extracurricular. Also, triple jump is such a fun sport. I love watching people's techniques. You don't even have to look at someone to know if it's a good jump, the sound spacing of the steps is all you need to hear.

yes, in high school, how do you begin to vault with the bendy pole and the form of being upside down in the air? I took a track and field class where we learned most events, but not pole vault. I would see the boys pole vaulting and wonder how they started. When I learned high jump, we were shown the form and we just did it at a low height. For hurdles, we practiced the timing (step-step-step,extend) and saw that we were high enough to clear the hurdle before we ran it for real. Every event where you could slam into an object is scary to start, though. Do you know how pole vaulters start learning to jump?

The man has an even more impressive record; he's the first man in history to go below 10s in the 100m, 20s in the 200m and 44s in the 400m. Noone before him had ever achieved all 3 in their careers, Wayde achieved all 3 and the 300m WR within 27 days in 2017. Its such a shame he took that awful injury.
