hello mate. First time watching your blog👍👍. reference you parking brake issues, we always fit piston type chambers to our trailers that only park on 2x axles and never had a problem since, the chambers cost 2 1/2 more but, no VTG10 to do and last longer with 40% more effort..win win win... PS. nice to hear someone like myself who cares about the job and takes pride in you we do..

Don’t hurt to have pride in your work as you do! Those Ford transit rear brakes are shocking but easy to replace. Great video again. Rob

Hey Ash, great video, we had a fail too, with brake roller being inaccurate, last mot went massively in our favour but this time not, but we also don't have our own rollers we have to go elsewhere to brake test during mot prep, the fun of the game, keep up great content

Hey up man, deffo worth investing in some rollers, even the mobile ones you roll in and out, you just can’t rely on brakes somtimes it is part of the job 😬🤦‍♂️

Great video as always, learning a lot, not a mechanic but the break testing things is hard work for ya, I think I see one of your Lorries broken down near stanstead airport on Tuesday night not sure if u would know as u might not be working but be interesting to see what’s wrong with it thanks for videos

Some of our trucks are on full maindealer repair and maintenance schedules so I don’t repair the newer ones, I’m not aware of that truck as I’m away on holiday currently 👊💪🖤

My main testlight is a 70w headlight bulb With 2 probes soldered to the pins 😂. If that lights up you know she’s a good en 💪👊

Great channel, really enjoying the content. I'm a HGV apprentice at the ripe age of 36, working on Terberg tugmasters so have no experience of taking a truck for test. I'm trying to get my head around the issue with parking on two axles rather than three? Why does it not lock on the two axles fitted with the handbrake?

Terdbergs I call them we had one and it was a nightmare man, kept chewing ring gears, blowing airbags and then the swivel seat collapsed, and parts were so expensive, we sold it and bought a cheap daf cf as a shunter

It’s a snap on testlight but I believe there is unbranded ones on the internet cheaper but essentially the same, I work 4 on 4 off and have just taken on an apprentice but he is very very new

If the tester gives me enough time to run back around to the cab I’ll press foot brake on then off after pulling the park brake

Hey up Ash, surely common sense is needed from dept of transport. You've brake tested that trailer on a top notch tester and got 4 locks with a printout to confirm but tester saying its a failure on his machine. Don't seem right bud 😕

Unfortunately it can only be judged on its performance at time of test as people are out there that would cheat brake tests if the testers eyes wasn’t on them 🖤

if they are 9000kgs axles so 27000kgs taw its a big gamble on park with only 2 axles got some Schmitz like that on saf discs I have tee,d park supply off axle 2 each side and piped to spring chambers on axle 1 make a nice neat job of pipework never had a issue on test been honest with tester and never done a vtg 10 as yet said many a time why have to ask to make it better/safer
