He only really plated as a number 10 for a short while. Overall I think he was just an outstanding player and I'm a staunch Liverpool fan.

Le Tissier, Cantona every time over most of these. Can't compare 90s to 2000s. They were both absolutely outstanding. Maradonna would struggle having to press nowadays, doesn't mean he wasn't the best 10 ever.

That's what confuses people about Ozil and Pogba who they call great. Even though, week in, week out, important games in and out, they have proven not to be great, yet some people keep calling them great!

It's individual to the player. There are plenty of great players to have little to no trophies and lots of players not as good that have elevated reputations because of what they won and who they played with. Le Tissier and Kane could be two of the most decorated players in PL history if at clubs with better teams, but they'll get always underrated by some due to not winning much/anything.

Bruno even being on the list is a joke. He had one good season where he scored mostly pens and is somehow in ahead of Eriksen, who based on numbers and longevity should even be ahead of Coutinho. Also, Scholes being in here is ridiculous too because albeit great, nobody in their right mind ever considered him as a 10.

If we are talking about the modern number 10 role then it should be between Bergkamp and Silva. And I would go for Silva as Bergkamp used to be hauled off quite a lot when he wasn't performing. Scholes is not a number 10 ffs.

Scholes and Silva were more central midfielders in the number 8 position, but more so Silva could play the 10 role. However, Hazard is/was not a number 10 and played predominantly on the wing in the 7 or 11 position.

@Danny Kay since ozil means after ozil, clown....damn English can't be this hard. Two I never said ozil was great at arsenal, but he wasn't a central mid and he wasn't a winger. How good he was or wasn't at arsenal has little bearing on the situation. Arsenal's a useless club anyways. Nobody has been great there since Henry (and that means after henry they haven't had any great players) so don't @ me with Bergkamp (who I find overrated tbh) or Vieira (top player)

I totally agree with Micah, Scholes was never played as a number 10. He played alongside Keane in a flat 4 man midfield. In his time at Man Utd the number 10 role was Mclair, Sheringham and then Cantona.

i think yaya was even more of a number ten than silva. scholes isnt a number 10, he's a number 8. hazard's not a ten he was/is a winger. not many tens i can think of off the top that havent been mentioned. zola was definitely a ten and should be on the list

@@mallyy1251, check out Djalminha, Okocha, Zidane, Rivaldo, Santi Carzola... etc. They were all technically gifted, however could all shoot, track back, are not terrible teammates like Ozil, who when he gives the ball away throws his hands up in the air as if it is another person's fault. Instead of tracking back and try to retrieve the ball he gave away. Who when the match gets difficult vacates his midfield role and goes and hides on the right wing, destabilising the team. He doesn't have stamina, not good in the air ... should I keep going? Next time when people have different views from yours, it doesn't mean 'hating'. It is another football opinion. Alright?

@@mallyy1251, you said it yourself. HIS ALL ROUND GAME ISN'T GOOD. Yet, you are surprised he is overrated? What makes one overrated then? Is it not when one is rated more than produces week in, week out? Ozil at Madrid barely completely matches, no matter how important they were. And at Arsenal he showed under different managers that he is not that good. That's it. Watch Pogba, he is another overrated player. When one says it people usually argue it, but week in, week out, he shows he is not a very good player, let alone a great one. Notwithstanding, big teams keep chasing him. However, watch him flop at his next club. You know why? Not because I hate him. Cos, I don't know him to hate him. He will flop cos he has shown that he is not good enough. Which is mostly because he thinks he is a great player, which makes him not work hard to develop the necessary skills needed to be a great player.
