It always makes me laugh at how loud the actors have to be in order to get people's attention. "MY CHILD, I NEED YOU TO STEAL ITEMS FROM THIS GROCERY STORE. PLEASE DO IT QUIETLY SO NO ONE WILL NOTICE OUR ILLEGAL ACTIVITIES."

In my views the older couple handled it in the best way. However everyone did the right thing but the older couple understood the necessity of enquiring the reason behind it... I wish them to stay happy forever..
@adriannaa5456 жыл бұрын
ANKIT TYAGI Well, hypothetically speaking, let's say this really happened, what if the women wasn't poor and just took advantage of the elderly couple. Not only has she almost gotten away with theft, but is rewarded for it instead. I'm sorry, I'm sure the elderly couple are very kind, but I would hate for their kindness and trust to be wasted like that. People who steal, regardless of their circumstances, should not be handed money just because of desperate times. Food drives and plenty of charities are out there for reasons. I've done countless midnight runs and I've seen many families and people look grateful for anything they can get. Resorting to stealing makes a person go from being justifiably in a bad situation to a criminal. America's justice systems are far from perfect, and unemployment rates are way to high, but handing things out to people for free like what the elderly man suggested won't help. A good deed can go a long way, and I hope if anyone were to pay for a person in desperate times, doesn't get taken advantage of because of being a nice human being.
@nestortyagi58656 жыл бұрын
Adrianna Arcuri I totally respect your viewpoint here, but if i was there i would have interpreted the situation this way... :::::;It's a good choice to infrom the store manager/staff about stealing and that's what most of the people did. (It surely made them an active citizen but there is more to life than just being an active citizen... And just like that there is more to the scenario than what we just see.) :::::But it's a better choice to confront the lady and offering her help.( there are chances that I may get fooled by the lady but still i would count it as a better option coz if there is even one percent chance that she is really going through a financial crisis and needs help then she worths it. Now you may say 'by doing that you may encourage her to continue shoplifting', but dear i wanna draw your attention to the following- why do people steal/shoplift food items? Here are some of the most common reasons- struggling to feed their children, hungry pensioners, suffering from compulsive disorder called Kleptomania, greed or dissatisfaction with whatever they have, some people do it for fun/thrill and some people even shoplift food items coz they think that there is nothing wrong in stealing from someone who has plenty of supplies. You know according to the police officials in my country- most of the people who shoplifts food items have no criminal record and atmost they do it to fulfil their needs. I know nothing can justify crime but by showing compassion, giving helping hands and by understanding each other's situation we can bring some changes to the society. But at the same point, i don't support people who shoplifts coz of their greed, desire to have more or for fun/thrill etc. And i know it's really hard to differentiate between a genuine or fake person.) ::::::But it's the best choice to confront the lady before I infrom the manager and this is how a mature person reacts. I would listen, enquire and evaluate her before i reach out to a conclusion. Finally if i find her in need then surely i would offer her help and if not then i would inform the manager without any delay. {Their is a big difference between offering help at first instance and offering help after listening to her side. But i know that we must be the smarter one than the person standing in front of us, and trust me listening to our gut feeling would help us a lot } :::::Now coming to the NGOs/ charitable trusts: According to the NCCS, there are approx 1.5 million registered non-profit organizations in US that is more than two charity for every 500 people. But still 11-13 million childrens in US are food insecure. The biggest question- aren't these 1.5 million NGOs capable of providing food to the 11-13 million childrens that just counts 9 childrens per NGO.. However, NGOs are helping them but not upto their full extent and hence we need to come forward to help others. (There is a lot i have to say about these NGOs but still i would prefer not to.) Hope you got my point and if not then we both are absolutely free to hold our own views. However i got your point: helping someone is indeed good but not with blind eyes. But maybe you missed my point: sometimes there is lot hidden behind the facades and to uncover that you must analyze the situation.

Kawaii Marshmallow Read what i replied to the previous person here in the comment section.. Surely, you will get your answer.. Read it carefully!
@nestortyagi58656 жыл бұрын
Kawaii Marshmallow As the mentioned earlier in my comment - some people suffer from the compulsive disorder called Kleptomania. Maybe she is also a victim of that or maybe she is going through other psychological issues in her life, otherwise no would emphasize his/her kid to steal something, especially not in this case. (Judging someone is easier than giving them helping hands) See, you can say or think of it whatever you want to, what ultimately makes a difference is how you react to this kinda situation in real life.(staying positive a bit would help you survive in this damn world where most of us get easily attracted to pessimism) And i never made up a story on how she can't feed her kid, i mentioned other reasons too. (Thumbing through my reply to Adrianna would help you to understand it better) Stay happy and stay positive!

There was actually a time when I was in line behind a mom and her child and she didn't have enough money to get some of the things so she was having the cashier remove items one by one trying to get the total price down to the amount that she had and I happened to (for once, lol) have a little extra cash so I told them to just add those items to my groceries because I would hope that maybe, if I'm ever in need, someone might be kind enough to do the same or that that mom might pay it forward for someone else someday. It wasn't the essential groceries, mostly the 'extra' things, but she was embarrassed and her daughter looked sad because they weren't going to be able to get the things she liked. it was like chips, ice cream and those little dinosaur shaped frozen chicken nugget things and a couple of Lunchables,lol. I may not have saved the world by buying such small things but it did feel good to be able to help someone and I wish I could do it more often.

emmy j Yes and also not turning her in too. If this was real she'd be in jail and her child put into the foster care system (Which we all know is broken). Then multiple court dates that she can't afford to go to, nor pay fines to. It was just FOOD from a big grocery store! I wouldn't tell on them but I might suggest to the mom not to have her son do the stealing 🤷 She's the mother. Kids shouldn't be involved in things like this, they are too young to understand.

If you're trying to steal something you don't say it super loud lol she said " JUST BUT IT IN THE BAG."🤦😂😂
@AurosOrion6 жыл бұрын
I feel like I would struggle with this. If I saw a grown adult stealing food, I feel like I wouldn't be able to say anything about it, because I don't know their situation. But forcing a child to steal is just wrong. If you're willing to risk your freedom to steal something, then so be it, sometimes you have to do what you have to do. But you should never risk your child's freedom.

sweet honey love sadly it does I once saw a news report lady taught her child how to steal high-end alcohol, a news report what a child was stealing people's iPhones as it was sitting down eating in the food court at a local mall and her parents tell her to do that. Some adults will use children because children innocent or considered innocent and unexpected shoppers or people who love to help won't expect a child to steal, I've even heard where children are used to knock on your door and ask for help but they really are casing the joint for their parent or other adult and it will come back and and Rob you later or break in to your house later when you're not home, or they will come up to your car acting like they're in distress and then you get carjacked. It's pathetic that adults will use children to commit crimes because their children don't know any better that is doing with the adult told them to do

sweet honey love I used to work at a Michael's Arts&Crafts and this woman would come in with her youngster sitting the cart. He's point to something and she'd drop it in her bag. Sometimes, she didn't even rely on what he wanted but she wanted herself. She was finally arrested and squealed the race card. They had to let her go and she continued this at another store. This show is biased and makes whites and Christians the Perp's or the "racist" or "homophobes" all the time. Like the crime shows the Perp is always a white person and that's so unrealistic. I don't care if they're acting or not. It teaches others they can get away with crime because the ones arrested will never be us-also untrue in real life.

When I worked in retail unfortunately a mother was forcing her toddler to shoplift it was heartbreaking. It killed me to see him crying as they arrested the mother and they had to call the toddler’s dad. Thankfully this was a WWYD episode but it’s so sad that this actually happens very often.

Worked at a grocery store for 6+ years, and this happens quite often. Parents will steal and use their kids as shields so no one stops them. They use baby buggies and fill them up. They have their kids switch stickers in the meat department. I saw it all, and that's one reason I quit.
