What would you do when you think no one is watching? What Would You Do? (WWYD?) explores the varying answers with the help of hidden cameras capturing individuals who have been placed within seemingly everyday situation that quickly go ary. The individuals on this hidden camera show are forced to make tough calls when directly faced with situations of racism, violence, hate crimes, and other hot button cultural issues. Catch John Quinones reporting on these individuals as they make split-second decisions to intervene or mind their own business. WWYD? airs Friday nights at 9|8c on ABC.
What Would You Do? (WWYD) is a hidden camera show, hosted by ABC News correspondent John Quinones, in which unknowing bystanders are placed in uncomfortable, and often compromising real world scenarios in public. WWYD’s hidden cameras focus on the average person’s responses and reactions to these issues of social responsibility. Topics such as gay couples being affectionate in public, date rape, racism and racial profiling, interracial couples, abusive parents, drunk driving, and harassment of the homeless are touched upon in this series. What will you do? Would you choose to intervene in these situations? Watch and join the discussion.

If someone said to me 'did you have an orange pocketbook', I would say no. I would assume that they were talking about a notebook or some other paper based item. In England, a woman's purse is a place to put her money. What they are calling a pocketbook is what we would call a handbag. A pocketbook is what police take notes in! Xx

I got my purse stolen at a Walmart as I was walking in. One lady followed them in her car and the Walmart employees called the police for me. Several people stuck around to talk to the police on my behalf giving details I couldn't. I'm so grateful for people who do step up

To be honest, I don’t think men notice when it’s a woman because when they see a woman they don’t take any notice of her purse. When they see a man with a purse, it’s much more immediately obvious that it doesn’t belong to him. Obviously I’m not a man so I can’t speak for them, just a theory though.

I mean that would actually be a good idea because it happens so commonly now and those poor people who own those hair shop businesses are really loosing out on money because people want to be cheap scum bags. I’ve been short a few dollars for a weave before and asked politely if they could throw in a discount and nine times out of ten if you’re sweet about it and you’re a regular customer they will spot you. Whenever I come back and have extra cash on me I always give them a $20 tip even if I have a $100 purchase best to show love to your local shops rather than cheat them.

Great way to teach big groups of people at the scene, on tv(so people watching tv or otherwise online like youtube) and even in highschools and colleges how to act and to act when you see any of these situations. This way anyone around will be way more active in telling people or surrounding and actively end or solve public situations like in this show is presented. We in The Netherlands should have it to..not just for comedy but for learning to help eachother and actively watch and act when needed and its not to or with people you know.

I find it interesting that in most of these situations, the bystanders almost always start the confrontation with "Excuse me, Sir" or something equally respectful, even though their tone is firm. the default manners when addressing a stranger, whom they are starting a confrontation with, is worthy of dissection on a broader spectrum

I will never forget this one time when I was in Middle School I was at a restaurant with my grandmother and we both went to the bathroom and I set my backpack on the ground and my grandma reached under the door and grabbed my backpack while I was on the toilet and when I came out she held it out to me and said that's why you never put your backpack on the floor. I'm really glad she taught me that lesson instead of somebody else. I never leave my backpack on the floor in the bathroom anymore of public bathrooms
