Loved these guys in the 70s ... Melbourne Southside6 playing this song whilst running around dance dressed only in huge nappies!...😂😂... But we were quite well conditions to strange things having aunty Jack just started on TV at the same time,,, back in the day that bands had full entertainment with fantastic sound with merriment... As a side note you used to get 5 glasses of beer for $1 😁

They are actually from Dunedin in New Zealand, but decamped to Melbourne in 1976 and this was their only major hit reaching #18 in Australia and #37 in New Zealand, the song was recorded in Melbourne and hence the lack of Watties baked beans. The group had bizarre stage acts including mini tramps which sprung bearded guitarists at you (From a book written by NZ 70s nerd Ian Chapman).

We you to see them at Revesby workers club . Most times they opened for other bands but when they played as the headline they were just brilliant . Man they could play but the whole show was so much fun . The buzzing fly that they chased around the auditorium while the lead singer hit people over the head with a rolled up newspaper trying to catch it . Loved them .

Their stage act was a wonder to see, Bass player was first out on roler skates wearing a bumble bee outfit, playing his Bass. Wirelines anstruments in the 70's? Listen to THEIR version (re-arrangement of Paint It Black) lyrics by Marianne Faithful when she was Mick's Junkie friend, Then chck out he movie 'Girl on a Motorcycle' (french) then you will know WHY she was Mick Jagger's girlfriend & think about the lyrics to ALL the early Stones songs> Mick NEVER had 19xnervous breakdowns nor did he use 'Mother's little helper" & he was NOT so depressed that he wanted everything 'Painted Black'
