It's not studio, It's from an earlier dress rehersal that they recorded like recording a live match and watching it later.

I love her smile after she delivers that first line...the way her hand trembles near the end of those more intense lines...the seriousness of her look while she waits to deliver the next. Absolutely the most magical version of this song, EVER! Soar with the angels, Sinead!

Interestingly enough, I came here from an article where Roger Waters was saying he didn't enjoy working with her. But he was all smiles on stage. Maybe aside from that he still appreciated her talent though. I enjoyed her singing this beautiful song. Her voice really was beautiful.

For me, this is the version that gives me the most chills. It's a symbolic concert, 8 months after the fall of the wall, in a symbolic place in Berlin Potsdamer Platz, first destroyed during the Second World War then separated in two by the wall during the Cold War. This is the concert I would have wanted to do if I had to do just one (And David Gilmour's 2016 Live in Pompei). So many great artists, great musicians and Sinead O'Connor who gives me goosebumps when she pushes a little... Thank you Sinead, gone too soon, may you now rest in peace. 🌿

One of the most beautiful women in the whole world, the most talented and amazing singer. I sing her songs All the time. On my karaoke machine. I listened to her on the way to work and at work and on the way home from work and when I'm at home. And beautiful, amazing natural, beautiful, amazing singer. I wish I could assault her in concert. But she's with the Lord now. God bless her and her family. And everyone in the world, thank you, seinead O'Connor.❤ I love you.❤

After Sinéad's passing I stumbled upon this performance and I was so blown away by her and The Band's vocals here (however brief it all may be) that I just had to get this concert and get it to play on a decent set-up. I can tell you that I got even more blown away hearing this bit on Dolby Surround. Played Live in Berlin years before and I don't remember it making such an impact then. Things have changed. Rest easy, Sinéad.

This was a huge Concert as commemoration of the fall of the Berlin Wall.. Its a masterpiece with incredible guests and stage work.

It is obvious to me that Sinead digs her most intimate depths to achieve a rendering elevated by the proof she can find what is pertinent in this song, beyond the fact it's originally about a relationship boy Vs castrating mother. I hear a girl in dialogue with her smothering covert narcissist mother, it's exactly what I picture, and it is all due to her inexplicable transcendant, and so often displayed, ability to express truthfull innocent-like charisma in her singing voice.

I love this performance by Sinead. I come back to it from time to time and it never ever gets old. I used to listen to it and so many of her songs over and over and over. There was no one like her and never will be. I deeply miss you Sinead and I am eternally grateful for your beautiful voice and soul.

Today June 2nd 2024 this song stands as an anthem for all in Mexico that wanted a change but we got the continuity of a horrible government. Thanks Sinéad for giving the best performance of this song ever and Roger Waters for writing this masterpiece

I was there, it was a shambles to be honest. But I was there to see The Band 😊The sound went so it was quite a fraught atmosphere. She did take some persuading to come on, and I’ve heard this recording is from a rehearsal. All that aside, it’s a sad day today ❤️

I listen to this version with Sinead every night right before lights out and then it runs thru my mind all day the next day like tranquilizer. She was the real deal. She's in Bliss now & happy to make us so happy. Best group of people. Love Roger & my FAV of " Mother " sounds IRISH ❤

After seeing this I'm surprised Roger Waters had to publicly slag Sinead off in an interview, calling her unprofessional, big headed, self involved and "up her own bum" among other things. You'd think after she smashed it out of the park with her live performance he'd have forgiven her any diva behaviour, but not old Super Grouch. Can you imagine Dave Gilmour treating a fellow artist like that? Or indeed anyone?? Nope, just good old Roger "I'm smarter than everyone else on the planet ever so I can behave like a complete arse!" Waters!
