@@VioletJoy yeah, my husband kind of takes pride in the fact that he never cooks any meal and doesn't have to because I have taken care of every meal for 13 years. but I am also grateful I never have had to seen or pay a bill, he takes care of that completely

Yeah I was surprised cause I‘be always only saw it with dads having the better one when it wasn’t both parents putting in the effort, and only until the mom says something to make the dad step up or the kids are older able to drive & money of their own does the Mother’s Day get better. It’s sad like ones I know of where the fathers have such a nice Father’s Day like sleep in with breakfast in bed, gifts and ones they actually WANTED and like (lol important distinction, not just some gift & card the kids hand made which yes is also sweet & great but a actual gift too is great too cause the husband should appreciate them as their kids mom too), and it’s not unusual for moms to let their husbands have a break from the kids like go out to do something with friends or stay home to play video games or watch the game for hours without any responsibility. Then the moms day I’ve heard from is the mom not being able to sleep in, if they have breakfast made for them is not that great, if a gift is also bought for them along with the kids handmade stuff it’s a crappy gift like more so something for the house then something to spoil the wife. Cause yeah these holidays aren’t just to appreciate ur mom or dad but ur partner when u have kids. And then they don’t get a breaking from watching the kids to do whatever they want. One I kno of where the mom is always working so wanted to just sleep in and relax at home they had to go over to their MIL cause apparently the husband couldn’t say no and cared more about his mom’s Mother’s Day and also couldn’t go without his wife?! I also kno of this happening a lot for couple when birthdays come around like the gf or wife doing so much but the bf/husband not putting in the same effort and getting them something they liked or wanted. If u don’t see anything like this in ur life ur find it happening plenty of times on Reddit and it’s always the woman something like AITA for being upset with my husband because he didn’t do anything special for Mother’s Day/birthday again when I always go all out for his.

He was in a bad mood because you became resentful at something you like doing once before. Then instead of asking what does he want you decide to do nothing at all. With men, ask them what they want. Even if you have to ask a month or two weeks before ask. Understand their love language but also understand what they want and need for a day that should be about them. I would be mad all day to. You go all out for something I did not ask for but because I never respond the way you like you give up on celebrating me period. Make it make sense!

If you don't want to be treated a certain way then don't treat people that very same way. It's not fair to be unappreciated and then become the bad guy when I stop doing the things that go unnoticed. Am I supposed to keep wasting my time trying to make someone happy when they're miserable and won't seek help to get out of it? No. When he decides he wants to stop being mad at the world and wants to improve his overall worldview then Im here to help and do everything I can. But I will not be taken advantage of.

So even a shitty mother still deserves credit for that. Not the same as having an orgasm and then peacing out.

I feel like it's a little different when shes the one who's pregnant but I also don't think you should go all out because the baby isn't here yet maybe some flowers or something but after the baby is born both should be treated as equally special
