Thanks for this great video. I’ve been looking for days for idiot (me!) proof instructions for removing a Rab outdoor motion light. 5 minutes after watching, my fixture was removed and leads capped. The bonus was learning that the sensors have a 10 year guarantee. Who knew? If our electrician did, he wasn’t talking. Great job. Thanks again.

This was indeed a helpful video, so thank you. Just want to add the suggestion that your light would've been more tamper resistant if installed it at the peak of the garage out of arm's reach. Right now someone could come along during the day and mess with your settings for a nighttime return.

Hi. You may have had the same issue that I currently have. I am considering replacing my old light fixture (which I think is also an RAB) with a new RAB I've selected on Amazon. This has given me the courage and knowledge to remove the old one.Your videos are very helpful thank you.

Any tips on how to get these to work like the first 6 months? Distance for the motion trigger has drastically decrease to about 5ft from sensor. My BBQ grill is 20ft away and it will trigger if i open the lid and let the heat out so its properly aimed. Sensor is clean and no condensation behind the lens. I believe returns or 2nd quality units are sold on Amazon for half price for a reason unless your $250+ unit is doing the same thing then ALL outdoor motion lights are only good for a year or two before having reduced performance. I'm in Florida btw.

My motion sensor light for some reason only works on test mode wen I put to a different setting the lights don’t come on for some reason like on the motion sensor the little red led light blinks which means it’s censoring me but the lights won’t go on and it’s night time any idea why this could be?

What type of electrical box was that which you mounted it to? I'm in need of replacing my box which is an odd size and doesn't fit the width of the new flood light.

I have the same problem and I am guessing that I might need to replace the sensors ... 😔 The light bulbs burnt and so at the time to replace them the light just stays on 😭💔...

Does anyone know what to do is the dang lights never turn off? We had one of these already installed, worked fine but one of the light fixtures had broken off the base. Worked 100% just looked bad. So we ordered a replacement, lights would never turn off. Put the old sensor back on, lights STILL won't turn off. Am I missing something? Followed wiring exactly as in the video. I'm stumped 😞

You could have replaced just the sensor without ever removing the fixture, and completed this job in 10 minutes including the time to make coffee.

Those motion sensors commonly fail -- I'll look for that 10 year guarantee the next time I replace one.

need an actual person to come look job/situation over & give us est. $ how much cost to replace fix make us happy.

The new sensor probably cost as much as or close to what replacing the whole unit costs. Why not just replace it all?
