Great video! Tells me 99 percent of what i need to know about this ball. I love motiv's heavy rolling pearls. Especially the sigma sting

This is my first motiv ball. This thing is so smooth, doesn’t overreact to friction which is very nice. It will float down the lane if hung in the oil. It’s about 3-4 boards less than my Hustle INK. I’ve been throwing Storm/Roto for 6 years, was nice to try something different. I might pick up another motiv ball.

I have the Venom Shock Pearl already, and no I'm not sponsored or anything. But I have mine drilled pin down under the ring find close to the bridge. I have about a 400 rev rate and throw it about 15.6 mph. I have to say this is one of the best balls I've ever thrown. I used the ball so much this past weekend at the 49th Hoosier Classic college bowling tournament. It might surprise you that I used this ball a lot if you seen the patterns for that tournament and I used it both days. It a very good forgiving ball in my opinion. I surprised my teammates when I went in Sunday and was immediately farther left then our bowler with the highest rev rate on the team who was throwing a Track Mako. I enjoyed your review on it, but I do disagree with your grade on the sport shot as I was able to use it on the very tough patterns that were put down for the Hoosier. I also think that this ball is usable on more than just medium to light volume patterns or burn. I used it on fresh on Sunday, and on Saturday I had jumped into a part of the lane that hadn't been touched. The ball amazed me so much that I am going to buy another and drill it pin up.

Not surprised. I can see that if the condition matches up.

I drilled mine up Tuesday used it in league and immediately had a good look but found myself pretty deep for a "light medium ball". My house has a good amount of volume and I had a very readable midlane reaction with a strong controlled reaction off my break and good energy through the pins. As I expected the cover was stronger then the Motiv chart describes but after throwing a trident quest I couldn't imagine the VSP being on the weaker side. It actually outhooked my green quantum (at 3000k abralon) but was still very controllable downlane. I will get a lot of use out of it. I would love to see Motiv get a little better with their ball chart and descriptions but the venom shock pearl is definitely a good ball for me. I like the rolling characteristics of their equipment but it took a bit to get used to the reaction I get from their equipment when I demoed a few releases. I definitely see what I can best describe as a more churning roll reaction both in the midlane and back end when I throw their equipment.

Thx for the vid, been waiting for this from you guys. I still can’t decide between motiv venom shock pearl or hammer cherry vibe. Which ball will b more suitable for broken down oiling lanes?
@TamerBowling
@TamerBowling 6 жыл бұрын
I think they are both good options but go about their roll differently. My take is that for lighter volumes, the Venom Shock Pearl would be good and for highly broken down fronts, the Cherry Vibe would be a good option.

Jo Hoon since getting my cherry Vibe it’s been in my hand almost exclusively. There’s been times where it hits a wall after moving left and it just doesn’t have the pop to kick out corners, then I switch to my Venom Panic cuz it reads the lane a few feet sooner. Seriously though the cherry is money on house shots. Just recorded my first 800 series with it and will be ordering at least 1 more for future use should the current one ever crack/die out. Good luck

Is the Venom Pearl too much ball for a novice player? I typically score in the 120's and 130's. Would an ebonite GB3 pearl be a more versatile choice for a first reactive ball?
@TamerBowling
@TamerBowling 5 жыл бұрын
I don't think either is too much necessarily. Talk to your pro shop operator and I'm sure they can get you into something reasonable to start. You can always build up.

How would you compare the gb2 phenom pearl to venom sock pearl and gb2 phenom to original venom shock?
@TamerBowling
@TamerBowling 6 жыл бұрын
Paul White nothing alike, not even close. VSP is so much earlier than the phenom pearl. Phenom pearl has lots more backend pop. Both offer readable control but in completely different ways. Similarly, gather gb2 seems to have an early roll but more pop downlane. The shock balls seem to feel like they hook at your feet compared to the gb2 balls.

Does anyone think this ball would work for a slowish speed two-hander?
@TamerBowling
@TamerBowling 5 жыл бұрын
First Last I think it can. It’s slower response downlane might help you hold pocket better. But if your speed is too slow, any reactive will pick up hard.

What is a house shot and a sport shot????
@TamerBowling
@TamerBowling 6 жыл бұрын
classicdell It refers to the invisible oil on the lane. Depending on how the oil is laid out, the shot can be easy or difficult. House shots are designed to be easy. Think about it like a half pipe. The ball is like the snow boarder. You go up to the edge and always funnel back down to the middle. Meaning more oil in the middle and less to the outside. Ball hits friction and funnels back to the pocket. Sport shots are flatter so about the same amount of friction left to right so you get no help. If you miss left ball is staying left and vice versa. Hope that makes sense.

Between this ball, Hy-Road Pearl, or Match Up Pearl, which would you like the most for someone looking to step up from the Rhino? I bowl 12 pounds, 14mph, average revs, some tilt, stroker style. Thanks in advance.
@se7enbe
@se7enbe 6 жыл бұрын
NormanKahler Really depends on the oil pattern that your bowling ally usually have. I do recommend going to 14lb however. the cores tend to differ below 14 so you dont get bang for buck! I think the third guy would be what you would see when you bowl :)
@TamerBowling
@TamerBowling 6 жыл бұрын
NormanKahler truthfully those balls may not be very different from the rhino. In 12lb it’s all going to be about the cover since the cores tend to be a generic shape. Of those you could go Hyroad pearl but if you want to further separate the ball reactions you could go to an IQ tour or HyRoad Nano.

Would dis ball be gd for a bowler with about 18kmh and a low-medium rev player as a step down to when the lanes get too dry for villain
