Clogged arteries result from the build-up of a substance called plaque in the arterial walls. It is also medically referred to as arterial plaque. This plaque can reduce blood flow or even block it altogether.
Clogged arteries increase your risk of developing other health complications like a heart attack or stroke.
Some of the most common risk factors for clogged arteries are:
High levels of LDL (bad cholesterol) or low levels of HDL (good cholesterol)
High blood pressure
Smoking tobacco
Diabetes or elevated blood sugar levels
A family history of atherosclerosis or clogged arteries
Stress
Obesity
A sedentary lifestyle
Most cases of clogged arteries do not exhibit any symptoms until a heart attack or blood clot presents itself. However, in cases where 70% or more of the arteries are blocked, you will notice the following symptoms.
Severe cases of clogged arteries may exhibit symptoms like:
Shortness of breath
Sweating
Nausea
Chest pain or angina
Palpitations of the heart
Dizziness
Weakness

I was listening to John Tesh on the radio years ago. He said if you are having a heart attack, try coughing. Said that coughing will help to pump your blood. Cough as much as you can, this can literally stop the heart attack. Never forgot this. Hope this will help someone, especially if you are alone

I have heard the exact same. This was advice that the father of a friend received from some of his own friends. And I doubt this had anything to do with John Tesh (I've never heard about him, btw.), since this occurred (also many years ago) in Bolivia where I (Norwegian) happen to reside.

That's what I remember, it went from 1 nurse to 3 nurses & 2 doctors immediately, the nurse rubbed a golf ball size of nitroglycerin on my chest and they were doing all kind of things, I had 1 stent, the surgeon the next day told me 1 of my 4 major arteries was 100% blocked. I was literally black from my right knee up to almost my navel from the angioplasty...if you doubt me ,I COULD CARE LESS...YOU MISSED MY WHOLE POINT, WHICH WAS MY REALIZATION...GOOD NIGHT

I just had to comment on this. About 5 years ago my coworker was complaining about shoulder pain up to his jaw. Nobody expected a heart attack because he was healthy and in his 40's. I said , "Hey Tony, would you do me a big favor? I'm sure your OK but would you chew a couple of aspirins up for me just in case? Tony was in the emergency room later that day for emergency surgery. He had the widow maker heart attack. After the successful surgery his cardiologist came by and Tony notified him of what I did. The cardiologist told him, "your friend saved your life." Talk about making me feel like some type of hero!

2 months ago I had a heart attack while alone in the woods with no phone . I did not realise what was happening but just new I had to sit down and get control of my breathing. I had to get my head into a state of meditation which was hard but I had to get a grip on it and managed to get my self back home. When I returned home I was just so so hot I had to strip off and it in front of a open window till I got my temperature down amd then went to bed. The next day I called the doctor and was rushed into hospital, they took my bloods and told me they were off the scale's and I was lucky to be alive. My condition is hereditary but I have now tweaked my diet and cut out all confectionery. I truly believe because of my many years of meditation saved my life that day and I would highly recommend to everyone.

There are several symptoms of an active heart attack, but sometimes none (widow maker). Make a list of the symptoms and keep it with the bottle of aspirin. In case you're in doubt, run down the list to give you a reminder that what's happening isn't just in your head. Take some aspirin and call 911.

Thank you for sharing this actual factual, useful information. I especially appreciated learning about the baby aspirin in a way that allows me to understand it’s proper use. I remember my Grandmother, may she Rest In Peace, would always take a baby aspirin and nitroglycerin pill. She survived the Great Depression. At just over 5’ tall, she survived a couple heart attacks, a quadruple bypass, a stroke and her husband 16 years that she cried every day for. My prevention was lost due to a misdiagnoses. I found out a few months ago I was born with a small stomach. I was 48 at the time of getting properly diagnosed, despite taking medical terminology at 23 to learn how to better articulate to the Specialists. In the last year, a Neurologist and Allergist properly identified 2 main things that had been missed and were creating inflammation, enough to shrink my stomach smaller than a pea. With much respect and gratitude Doctor, for the care you give patients, as well as for posting such special and helpful content. 🕊⚕️🙏

On the way to the hospital I'd coded in the ambulance and needed de-fibbed back then I was rushed into the OR thankfully I'm still here but no amount of knees up to the chest and coughing would have saved me on this occasion. I'd just had my Aortic valve replaced and a triple bypass in July and this was the cause of my heart attack. If not alone adult CPR is 30 compressions 2 breaths. Make sure chest expands with breaths and the area just above the sternum is compressed 2 inches. If you think you are doing it wrong remember this keeps oxygen going to the brain until EMS arrives. If you’ve forgotten 30:2 rule do it anyway for oxygen. If you’re worried about breaking ribs, do it anyway, but do watch a video for a few minutes to refresh yourself. Everyone should learn CPR and rescue breathing 🙏

@@dwade63221. Effective the first few minutes and 2. Doesn’t apply to secondary cardiac arrest . Do whatever you feel comfortable doing. Do anything. The conventional method is 30:2 and necessary in drownings, opioid overdose, suffocation. In both scenarios the airway should be opened. We don’t always know the cause of cardiac arrest. This is the safe route. As far as I know there is no harm in giving rescue breath. It is very exhausting so perhaps that is why it’s been deemed unnecessary. As far as what is effective in any and all cases, I prefer the conventional method. I have also needed to give cpr for 20 minutes and the goal is for the best outcome no matter your preference. Your comment is a very important point, especially for people who don’t want to make contact with a stranger or get exhausted by conventional ❤️🙏 never wait for anyone to give life saving instructions, follow your instincts. As a woman it’s important to note a heart attack may have very different signs for women vs men. Mine was an annoying pressure in my upper back that came and went over a months time. A few times I felt a warm sensation like someone poured warm oil over my shoulders and upper back and then it would go away. That happened a couple of times, and I happened to be going to see my doctor so I waited for my appointment. The pcp wasn’t sure but sent me to a cardio doctor since my age and family history (my mom had stents for heart attack two decades before). I go see the heart doctor two weeks later put me in a wheel chair after doing a test (an ekg I think) and immediately rolled me to the hospital next door. You’ve had heart attack”S” he said and need emergency surgery, which they did to place 4 stents. I literally had NO PAIN. Very little other symptoms. At the hospital they said for women, heart attacks are often called “the silent killer”. Get your heart checked out!

I didn't experience any chest pains or pressure I just started feeling weak and very sleepy, sweaty and nauseated, shortness of breath, feeling so so tired then urinating every few minutes. I'm a older lady who is diabetic so be careful and please pay attention to abnormal happenings goin on with your body now when I have any little light chest pain I go into alert mode.

@HedgeWalker yes because heart gets stronger by doing it. And the arteries getting bigger. Moving or running is natural for our biology and body. The modern life is much more dangerous to our heart. Surely depends how often you are jogging or how hard you strain your body. Then there are other factors. Diet as example fast food isnt good or smoking, drinking, stress, sleep etc.

my partner was rushed into hospital last week because of a very high pulse, over 150. The paramedics were asked by the receiving hospital, which specializes in heart problems, "has she had a covid or flu shot?" Very telling as I thought they were ruling out this possibility, as they have had so many instances of heart problems through those injections. Turns out she had caught an infection in another hospital where they were treating her for a fall and broken bones.

It depends what’s the cause of choking. If you choke on some solid food try to stand up straight or just straighten up in sitting position and lift your arms straight up - this all should unblock your oesophagus and release that bit of food blocking it.

For anyone who experiences this while alone, it's terrifying. Getting outside to a visible to others spot while calling emergency for help seems essential. As backup insurance I got a Life vac device which puts faith in it and that one could use it on oneself during an immediately frantically scarey possibly life threatening situation. I'd do the get outside while grabbing device n calling then try it on myself. I hope I never have to use it. As a food allergy sufferer, I understand this too well.

So I'm going in for Bypass surgery on Monday Morning. But this week several of the Nurses and Specialist said that they also used Turmeric and some of the other stuff that I've been using. As one Specialist that showed the film and gave me the bag of Ensure and body wash, liked the idea o using a tea spoon of Dark Hershey Cacao in with my morning coffee. She also previously used the Sciatic exercises to stop her body pains. In my case I had bad reactions to the various Heart drugs, but as of today we are trying it again with 4 more heart drugs. needless to say, I woke up in the middle of the night with leg cramps. Keep up the great work of informing alternative options.

Remember that these are also the same exact symptoms of panic attacks!! Edit: symptoms are: pain in the chest, especially (around the area of the heart), hyperventilation, limb numbness, dizziness, tendons contracting, inducing a temporary "paraplegic" posture with the arms, sensation of not breathing (due to the amount of air inside of the body, and not the opposite!) and finally extreme tiredness, due to the parasympathetic system releasing de-stressing chemicals to calm the body. But nonetheless, calling help is always the best option.
