A high-level comparison of the different motivations and goals of Tolkien's main villains, Morgoth, Sauron, and Saruman, and how they eventually collapse into one self-defeating impulse. This may germinate into a series looking more closely at villains and evil in the legendarium. Includes Sauron as the Perpetual Bronze Medalist, Saruman's Impostor Syndrome, and Morgoth's Series of Really Bad Days.
