You reinstalled the cover on the skid plate BEFORE you started the engine to check for leaks 😮 Bad advice from a professional technician if you want my opinion.

Put a cheap dollar store tarp under your vehicle to save your driveway and make cleanup easy. Always use wheel chocks with ramps and have plenty of shop towels.Always wear gloves a mechanic I worked with died from skin cancer on his hands that his doctor said was caused by repeated contact with used oil. I bought this tool, did my first oil change using it on my ‘12 Highlander. The oil filter housing was over tourqued by the previous shop and tabs were chipped. This thing was a life saver.

I have their tools for my oil changes. Definitely worth it for convenience. I got it done without it but the oil filter drain tool is nice to have. Great video!

As you can tell, this is the comment section. Guess you should have put a tarp down to keep the driveway clean. He held a rag to keep from dripping oil on the engine, but no fucks given for the driveway SMH.

This 0w20 oil is like water, I didn't realize the problem until my first oil change and it was splashing fucking everywhere as it hit the oil pan. Now I raise the oil drain pan up as close to the truck as possible

Replaced 9 filter housings for Toyota's that had the complimentary toyota free oil change... In the span of 5 years. Just bought my '23 tacoma AINT bringing her down for a dang oil change! I know some of those new techs don't use 18ft lbs to tighten those.

They are all just like that torqued down from heat cycling. Use the 24mm socket and .5”

Same splash when I used and older swallower drain pan, so I bought a much deeper pan over at Walmart and also, if you leave the oil filler cap on and don't pull out the oil dip stick you won't have the slash as much and as the oil drains you can release the dip stick and cap to allow the oil to drain reminder in the pan...also, I use an old plastic tarp to keep area clean and it makes it easy to pull the tarp out with the oil pan from under the truck and makes it easer to empty...not true about the dip stick showing a little over the full make...please note that the oil filter will need to be totally saturated to get a real true reading on the dip stick...I fill the oil filter with the 1, 2 of the 6.1 or 2 so I only put in slightly less that 6 qts. no dry start of oil filter. just some things to think about, you are the judge of your thinking...Ninja on...

If I'm still going to get my hands covered in oil when removing the pan nut and the filter nut, that makes this whole kit not worth the $69 to me. Thanks for showing the product so everyone can make their own decisions, though.

This is such an easier process on the Gen 2's with the oil filter on top with the old school filter.

It's impossible to get every single drop of oil out. However, the capacity listed in the owner's manual is the oil change capacity. That's the amount that should be replaced. The high level mark on the dip-stick is the full mark when the engine is at operating temperature. If you overfill it just drain the oil filter. Then top it off if need be.

Can you show more of the rav4 more soft roaring with it and do you have any 4Runners to to show. I love your Tacoma it’s freaking awesome. I don’t know I’m on the fence with 4Runner and Tacoma I want a redesign on both and better mph

You will get blasted with less oil if you remove the oil fill cap AFTER you remove the drain plug.

Tool got stuck on the cap. First time using, had to 🔨 and flat headed it off 🤦🏻‍♂️

Torque is 25 millimeters? I thought torque was measured in-lbs or ft-lbs in the U.S.?

Should just put the metal oil filter on there. That plastic one is horrible (in my experience) I broke a ratchet trying to get it off. Never had an issue with the metal one.

I’ve got a Toyota Camry and not once have I ever changed the washer on the drain plug.

I do not like the way just a REMOVE OIL FILTER....so complicate......old oil filter for 5vz-fe is simple and I finished for long time already.....( time consumming too long and too messy) pay only .3 so must be hurry and do another oil change !!!! time is $$$
