Great pointers! I take it there are Gymkhana events where you are at? I’d love to start something in South Texas.

Yes, there are Moto Gymkhana events here in SoCal. They are run by M-Gymkhana. The owner is James Bush. Check out their website for more information. I usually participate in the Fontana and San Diego events.

Hi Alex, where can I look up setup specifications for the 4 elements. Distance between cones, number of cones, offset distance, etc? Thank you.

Thanks for the question. To be honest with you, I have no idea of the dimensions that I use when I practice because it’s different every time. I know that Fast Eddie at Motojitsu is big into measurements, but when I practice, I always just come up with something different every time. I don’t even carry a measuring tape; I just use my steps to measure. For figure 8’s, I would start with two cones about 25-30 feet apart. For sloloms, maybe 8-10 cones about 15 feet apart. Come up with different dimensions and mix it up because different distances between cones require different approaches and techniques.

Lexco Moto Gymkhana Hahahaha yes, I came here from the Motojitsu school after watching yours and Eddies video. Yes, I understand what you mean. Thanks for the pointers. I will start with that and take it from there.

Thanks for your question. I get asked about this often. My technique is based on my studies of the style of Takayoshi Sakuta; The King of Moto Gymkhana. It is similar to the concept of “Spotting” in the dance style of Ballet. There are some good videos on KZfaq about that technique. Besides that, it is a matter of timing the head turn, rotation of the bike and application of the rear brake. I will definitely be making a video about this sometime in the future. Thanks for watching.
