Great exercise--especially having folks start on the outside FIRST. Hey, it's almost the same on the inside so it SHOULD work fine, right?

The actual distance is 2-3 feet, but I think it is a big difference psychologically and visually, when constrained by those deadly tennis balls - don't hit the guardrails :)

It was my impression that in motogym they do not use the clutch.

I suppose you can develop a technique, but the basics, the essentials should be developed with a clutch. Let me know how the no-clutch method works out?

you would be surprised at the size of some bikes, and what they can do in a small circle!!

Or just use chalk instead of tennis balls, way easier and cheaper to place and less risk of slipping.

you cant really tell if you run over chalk.... but tennis balls will pop up and roll. And they are not slippery as they are made of rubber

My CRF250L with supermoto conversion handled this perfectly but I couldn't get my ZX14R to stay inside the circle, only within 2' outside

More throttle, more brake, and you have to commit to the turn - much harder to commit with a bigger bike

You just need to get over initial fear of deep lean angles at slower speed. Another commenter mentioned using chalk instead of tennis balls, but what you can do with chalk is to make lines across you tires from sidewall to sidewall (make several for both tires) and so circles or slow deep lean turns and then stop , look at the chalk marks, and you'll see how much more room you have to lean by the amount of chalk left on the edge of your tire.
