MOTOPOWER Motorcycle USB Charger Installation on a Moto Guzzi V7 Special

Жыл бұрынThis video covers the installation of a MOTOPOWER MP0609AA 3.1Amp Motorcycle USB Port Kit on my 2022 Moto Guzzi V7 850 Special. I make a custom 3D printed mounting bracket and attach the USB charger under the seat of the motorcycle. After installation I test the charger for output voltage and current.

Great videos SP Steve. I've been considering getting a motorcycle for a few years now, with my eye on the V7. Loving these...great instructions and commentary - and love the clean/quality work you're doing. Truly appreciated. Thank you ...hoping to see more videos in the future..(oil change, maintenance, ...etc.)

thanks Lacasse77. I have a few more videos about the V7 coming. I will eventually do some routine maintenance videos but I'll wait until after the 2 year warranty has expired, so it'll be a while for that. Thanks for watching and the comment!

When disconnecting the battery , safer to do the negative first . When reconnecting do positive first . That way you eliminate chances of sparks against the frame . Thx for the videos

Always disconnect negative first and reconnect the negative last!

Why did you select that kit instead of the OEM Guzzi one?

the Moto Guzzi kit is $56 and special order, the kit I used is $13 and I got it from Amazon in 2 days.

Could you post the .stl file to thingiverse or share it somewhere? I have a V7 as well and that would be extremely useful!

I will try to post it to thingyverse. You will probably need to scale it to the correct size.

I posted the object. I hope it is the correct file, I have several versions. The file name is Moto Guzzi V7 USB Charger Bracket. Give it a day or so before checking for the file. Remember, you will probably need to scale the object to the correct size in your slicer, so you may want to print a draft version first. I hope it works well for you!

Don’t do it. The circuit that you’re taping into controls other stuff on the bike . If the usb charger fails it could take out other stuff on the bike.Its better to get a usb charge from Amazon and connect it directly to the battery wit its own fuse.
