Well after the success of the last video showing the fantastic Lone Rider Moto Tent**, it was time to check out its baby brother, the ADV Tent!
- Can a small, lightweight version of the tent be as good?
- Is this a worthy tent for the bigger bikers?
**Link to our "Moto Tent" Video: • Motorbike Camping with...
"The ADV Tent is a motorcycle tent designed to shelter one or two riders, their gear and all luggage.
Drawing on almost a decade of tent design and manufacture, the latest addition to the Lone Rider tent family builds upon a history of quality and exceptionally functional tents for motorcycle camping.
This tent is designed and tested by riders all over the world. All features on this tent have a motorbiker centric function.
This makes the ADV Tent the only true 2 person biker tent and the best motorcycle tent on the planet."

Awesome tent, I’ve had a few but setting this one up is as easy hell once you’ve done it a couple of times. Definitely money well Spent 👍

One small point of correction. The footprint (the protective sheet under the floor) only covers the floor area of the tent. It does not cover the vestibules as you indicated. There is a very valid reason for this. If the footprint covered the vestibule area it could potentially get water on it during rain when the tent is open or even water from under the edges of the tent fly. That water would then migrate under the tent floor and would eventually seep up through the floor and into the tent if there was enough of it.

just purchased one, probably don't remember me, but we shared a couple of drinks at the ABR just outside on the benches of the main bar looking towards the main stage, can't remember if it was Chris Birch or Lyndon Poskitt sitting with us for a bit, nice to put a name to the face. no doubt see you again this year at the ABR, I have upgraded my tent again for the bike, this time going from my Vango Mirage pro with the gear store to this one.

You are the first one I’ve seen put the cross poles correctly on TOP of the ridge pole! 😂 Good review. I still don’t know which of the 2 tents I will go with - I like them both, but the ability to sit out of the weather and not inside the sleeping area would be huge.

Thank you mate, it’s amazing what a bit of research does before you assemble anything but thank you for the feedback and having both tenants I can confirm they are both exceptional quality and well worth it. However in adverse weather conditions, the Moto tent will always win whereas the summer for light weight will be the smaller one

I've had both tents, and rate them highly. The Moto one is great for when you are staying somewhere for a week, and the extra living space is needed. However, if only staying somewhere for a few nights, or you're campsite hopping the Adv tent is the best option.

I wanted to buy the larger MOTO tent with the garage, but it didn't seem practical since I pull up stakes every day while I'm traveling. The smaller tent might be more practical, depending on how fast it can be set up. taken down and re-packed.
@MidlandsMotorbikers
@MidlandsMotorbikers Жыл бұрын
Agreed the smaller tent is far more compact but doesn’t take that much quicker to set ip

For a short trip it would be great. Would take the bigger one if I was going for a longer trip. Well thought out features on that tent. I have a competitors version, which is similar but a bit simpler on the poles.

Looks a great tent, well designed. But I can’t see how you can justify the price, at 50% below the price it’s currently selling for, I’d buy it. At the end of the day it’s a tent and a expensive one.
@MidlandsMotorbikers
@MidlandsMotorbikers 2 жыл бұрын
@@kevingallagher2729 you do really get what you pay for, I know there are less expensive tents but I see this as a tent for many years and so well thought out with exceptional size, shape and design :-)

Do you have any info regarding wind resistance? I have the bigger MOTOTENT for two years, use it quite a few times and of course in windy conditions. While it doesn't break and handles rainwater well, the amount of pole deflections and level of difficulty setting it up in windy conditions make me looking into the ADV tent which also a free standing tent as a bonus.
@MidlandsMotorbikers
@MidlandsMotorbikers Жыл бұрын
Hi mate and thanks for messaging, we have both tents and the ADV tent is definitely easier to put up in the adverse weather conditions…. The ASV tent handles the weather and rain very well and with the distance between the inner and out tents it perfect for it! Plus - you can put the tent up starting with the outer then the inner secondly

If you get up for a pee in the middle of the night make sure you leave via the correct door otherwise you're gonna be swimmin'. Nice enough design but £369 seems expensive to me.
