Check if any repaint on the body 5. Physical inspection of painted part and plastic 6. Check keys all three keys and it's function 7. Check the paint from the side view and should be uniform 8. Check if ant tent very carefully, check if any scratches, especially near the corner 9. Check the side mirror 10 check there should not be any cut mark 11. Check all things in daylight 12. Check indicator and DRL 13. Check the noise while closing the door 14. Parking sensor functionality 15. Check boat space, there should not be any sound check the light and check the spare wheel, check all tool kits, check the jack, check the hazard light 16. Check all logos should be Pasted properly 17. Check engine 18. Check there should not be any small stone mark on the windshield 19. Check all switch 20 check parking light 21. Check all infotainment systems, check volume with full volume, and check all speaker 22. Check navigation 23. Check AC cooling at full speed 24. Check the charging point 25. Check the glove box and it's light, 26. Check parking brakes, 27. Check all glass motor functions and door locks from inside.

Car payment should always be done in two parts . 1. Pay only booking amount and down payment for car and don’t pay for Insurance and RTO Registration. 2. After PDI and self satisfaction pay for insurance and registration. 3. PDI shall be done before registration as if after PDI if there is fault in car the car cannot be replaced .

We purchased a Tata Nexon a couple of months back in West Bengal The dealer called for PDI on 23rd April and requested for full payment. We did. The vehicle was delivered to us on 5th May. The dealer cited RTO concerns, HSRP readiness, insurance etc etc. He won't budge , saying they have strict orders not to deliver vehicle without registration no. Entire West Bengal follows it. I felt as if WB was out of India. My sadness was that we had made the downpayment including insurance, but the vehicle was not with us for 10 days.

Important: Tata Motors provides a booklet of sorts pre-delivery that has everything a customer needs to know pre-delivery. This booklet also has two pages with a checklist of items for pre-delivery inspection. This is extremely helpful for the customer wanting to to proper PDI. But here’s the catch-the auto dealer may or may not give you this booklet when you book your car and might give it to you on the day of the delivery. This is different from the user manual that comes with the car. Please ask for it well in advance and acquaint yourself with PDI checklist/process. I am assuming other car companies also have a similar book for evey customer at the time of booking the car. Do avail it well in advance guys. It’s extremely useful.
