*Great air pump **MyBest.Tools** Faster than my old plug in pump and twice as handy without having to drag the cord around.And it works with my existing Ryobi drills battery.*

Hey man... excellent video and I like your laid back, no nonsense/fair positioning. I have the slime myself but have never deployed the product to date. The only thing I have heard about these portable pumps is that they can overheat... so you might want to run them a while and give them a breather.

Didn't get a chance to test the Slime but having used the Stop n Go and MotoPumps quite a bit, neither have yet to overheat. Also, thanks for the kind words; much appreciated!

Excellent review. Ordered the stop and go to replace my CO2 system primarily for the package size and also like that it can be powered from the SAE battery tender lead.

Glad you enjoyed the video. I've head of RideOn Sealant but I'm not likely to try it on my Super Adventure. I've heard some bad reports from guys mucking up their TPMS sensors. I should say that's not specific to Rider On Sealant but other products like it.

Good reviews. I carry a kit with co2 cartridges, but thankfully I've never had to use it. I do have the AAA package that includes motorcycle towing, which is good piece of mind as long as you have a cell signal. It'd be nice to find a motorcycle shop that will give hands on practice plugging a leaking tire.
@2WR

Nothing wrong with the CO2 kits; just not my preferred but you're right about shops and plugs...damn insurance companies.

I dropped AAA mainly because after paying almost $200 a year for their platinum RV plus plan they refused to tow my company van when I broke down, pissing me off. In previous years, they had towed my company van when needed. I get not letting employers use a single AAA membership for towing of their entire fleet, however I am just an employee with my own membership. I ended up going with Good Sam for a whole lot less money because unlike AAA, even their most basic plans cover motorcycle towing, so I'm not shelling out almost $200 a year for something that hardly ever gets used, and then when I tried to use it, I was denied.

The co2 point is gold, was about 1 mile rom the Canadian border on the NEBDR last week when my pressure warning came on my 1190r. Got 10 psi out the Co2, only had two, second one ended up failing and I got to civilization at around 14psi......buying a friggin pump like I should have

CO2 has it's purpose but tough to beat a compressor if you have the space.
@johnalvis9086

I have a Slim motorcycle specific pump. What you may want to try is how long it takes to fill the tire to the proper psi. I had a flat and ran the pump to the auto shut down so had to wait for it to cool to finish inflating the tire. In the cooler temps to top off the pressures it worked well.
@2WR
@2WR 4 жыл бұрын
I considered that but decided to go with the timed approach since everyone runs different psis. While I've had my Stop n Go heat up a bit, it's yet to overheat on me.

I assume the pumps' built in gauges not matching the digital gauge is the vibration of the pump skews the gauge

Great review as always Mario. I'm with you re. supporting small, bike-centric, (is that a term?) companies, plus it does appear to offer the most. Maybe the MotoPumps works a little less hard, (not providing quite the power), to keep it from overheating, (at least as fast). I like the longer cord, metal bit, and at least for panniers, flat pieces, (even if a bit bigger), work well, (but I get wanting it on your bike at all times. The others seem good options as well, especially to throw in your car / truck too. Did not know you owned an FJR, (big Yamaha fan), always thought that would make a nice touring machine, (just have to stick to pavement, unfortunately).
@2WR
@2WR 4 жыл бұрын
Thanks Jerry. I really have no complaints with the MotoPumps (otherwise I wouldn't have bought another). It's very well made and I've got in under the seat of my truck ready for the 2020 race season. The other 2 are great options as well depending on one's needs. Yes, had an FJR for years, still one of the best bangs for the buck when it comes to (on road) touring.

They work for tubes or tubeless. It’s just the repair kits that’s are for tubeless. All 3 are good. Just have to decide which features you like best. The Stop n Go is the smallest.

Busted out my slime air compressor that I have had riding in the back of my bike for 2 years the other day. Won't even turn on. I assume the vibration killed it. Pretty disappointing.

May have to invest in a Stop & Go (I'm currently carrying a CO2 type kit); one tip for using mushroom plugs is that putting some glue over the hole before you insert the plug can help seal it, the plugs are just rubber themselves (at least the ones I've used - but then you have to have some glue handy, it's a trick I used years ago when plugging tires at a gas station I worked at). The dynaplug types I've used had glue on the plug strips. I've resorted to Slime (the green stuff, not the compressor) before; one drawback I noticed, which you only find out if you read the labels fully, is that they recommended not exceeding 70mph after using it. Didn't seem to cause any balance issues, no idea how it would affect TPMS. It's been about 20 years since I last used it, maybe the product has changed some since. And as a last resort, which I've had to do a couple of times when getting a flat in town (with a tubed tire), there's the ride from one gas station to another, over-inflating the tire at each until you get home (which was easier to do when that was free, now you'd need a pocket full of quarters).

Hey Mario, GREAT channel! Do you have an opinion about tire sealants like Ride On Sealant? I’m finding conflicting info about whether or not it works with KTM 1290 TPM sensors. I was considering Ride On for it’s ability to help balance wheels and thusly help with head shake. Thanks man and really appreciate your work!
@2WR
@2WR 3 жыл бұрын
I still prefer old school static balancing with wheel weights. It may work with some TPMS but not worth the risk for me.
@galynnedavis2996
@galynnedavis2996 3 жыл бұрын
I wouldn't use the Ride On or Slime sealants on a 1290 with TPMS because those KTM TPMS sensors are NOT hermetically sealed and thus many problems have been had... fail. Just was researching this very topic and found it was a no go.

I have a Slime compressor that actually has the slime in the compressor. Flip a switch and it will pump the slime into the tire. Not sure how that affects the balancing of the tire with slime in it since I have not had to use that feature. One thing is I have to put in 48 psi to get 42 psi by the time I unscrew the air chuck. I do believe you lose some air from the tire during the time it takes to unscrew the air chuck. I would rather have a snap on chuck.
@2WR
@2WR 4 жыл бұрын
Not sure how it affects the balance either but have to be careful using the "slime" with the TPMS.

For a motorcycle tire, I only trust the tire repair strings, specifically Safety Seal, or Blackjack. FortNine on a KZfaq video displays how little pressure it takes to push the mushrooms in, and why the Dynaplugs took more pressure, they too could be pushed in, for example by riding over a rock, or possibly hitting a pothole, creating an instant failure. This doesn't happen with the tire strings.

I'm sorry man, do the test with a complete flat tire with motor running (I understand some manufactures recommend 3 min on max and 1 off) but do the real deal, let it run, check for the heat (with a temperature heat gun) time and show the results. We need the real numbers, when we need in the field, this things must work, and not leave us strained in the middle of no where, because over heat or broke because of the low quality components. Otherwise, great video, tks.
