Nice video, I laughed at you revving the engine when you had no fuel! I think the chicken was crossing the road to get to the other side.

I'm slightly embarrassed but the chicken might be my favourite bit.

Austria is a great place with lovely people. I spent a lot of time there at KTM, I done design work for them. I always got the feeling that there is hardly anyone there. The roads were always really quiet if not empty. You are doing great anyway and I notice you still ignoring your satnav telling you to Uturn. 😂👍

The same thing happened to me when they opened this kind of fuel-stations. In fact, it was my kids, who did not even go to school then, who showed me where to use my card. Talking about embarrassment.

Nothing to be embarrassed about at petrol station. I wouldn’t have known either. Happened to me in France, out of fuel, a Sunday and pump only took credit card and not debit card. I just stood there gormless for minutes on end 😂

Your the most in experience yet most experienced rider that I know. Excellent. Where as to you I’m more experienced but the least experienced.. You have done so much yet in so little time. Hats off to you. But also your personality shines. Think that’s why I got a soft spot for you. Just up to the washing machine, you falling asleep . Love it. At one point I though you put the bike into neutral and costed down hill. How much fuel did you have left after figuring out how the pump worked? Hate new card systems and their trick operation. Great videos! In case you care to know, "Hausmeister" would be someone in charge of the building in terms of the physical structure of it, not in terms of managing what is happening in the place. Meaning responsible for cleaning, keeping things in good nick, repairs, maintenance etc. You probably meant manager? There isn't really a word like that in German afaik.

At the end of the day you shouldn't be embarrassed because there's a saying for practically everything, "You don't know what you don't know" Just smile and say, Hey, thanks for letting me know

Yes, Austria and all the countries that flank the Alps are visually spectacular and a rider's paradise. Dirt and gravel riding - sometimes you can actually be too slow; meaning every little bump and pebble have an influence on your bikes behaviour. Might be a hard 'wall' to pass through, but a bit faster is easier and safer. You need just enough speed to obtain a gyroscopic state of stability. Where exactly is the Northwest Air Ambulance based - what country? It's not mentioned at all.

So, I guess I missed something. The narrow gravel road/trail, was it at a steep angle, or had a really low speed limit on it? Oh, BTW, I did like the night sky stars that you captured. I could tell very easily it was the constellation Orion and you could even see the nebula. Nicely done!

Yep Germany and Austria are on the list! Must goto Vienna. Want to see the battlefield where the Polish winged Hussars launched their devastating attack. Theres def an epic film or two that needs doing from this period. (Cannons, early handgunners etc)

I have been noticing in previous episodes you are having issues with cold while camping. It doesn’t look like you have an insulated sleeping pad. This makes a huge difference when temp dip below zero. I use an Exped pad that has an R6 insulation rating. My wife and I have spent numerous nights below zero, and have been toasty warm. You might want to look into that.

Sky at night shots were fabulous but the drone shot down the valley at 2 mins in was probably one of the best I've ever seen. Stunning ! Just as an aside what drone are you using ?

You are not the only one that have missed the card reader at the end of the row of pumps. I have directed many people (and a lot of them was what I call besserwissers, often men) over the years, so no reason to be embarrassed because of that.

Saffy, I have to ask.... Being British do you find it difficult to ride on the heathen side of the road & not unconsciously move over to the wrong side of the road? As an American I've always wanted to ride Ireland & Scotland but I'm afraid I'd have a ptsd moment and take out someone head on.
