I'd be curious to see how this bike would do in a group test between it, the R3, RC390, Ninja 500 and maybe the CBR500R. It sounds like the mushy brakes would be a turn off for me personally, but I wonder if the competition would do any better.

R3 was falling behind when the Ninja 400 came about. It's not even in the running now

It's kinda better than all of em , N500 comes a close second

450ss is the top right now. Ninja 500 second. Aprilia 3rd. Hard for the Aprilia with it's 40whp to compete with N500's that are pushing 50 whp stock and 56-58 whp with a few mods.

Aprilia will trounce em all. Its got proper clipons with a committed seating posture and a hell lotta torque at low end making corner exits quicker than the competition.

I am interested in the group test including the cfmoto 450 SR S, because that one does have the adjustable suspension and electronics may be equal. Probably the difference resides on the quick-shifter. Also to confirm if the Ninja 500 is still the same bike with a little extra power. Thanks for the video and looking forward to the comparison

How’s the braking on the rs457. Why couldn’t you measure 60 to zero in feet?

Would afternarket clip-ons or rearsets help the track riding position?

Great review! Such a nice looking bike. Unfortunately not available in Australia yet. I bought the 2024 CFMOTO 450SR-S instead as my first bike. Awesome bike! Wonder how this Aprilia compares?

Would you rather gateway drug into the Aprilia family (RS457) or the Kawasaki family (Ninja 500)?

Kawasaki 500. Affordable to buy and maintain for a beginner. They’ve been evolving that motor for the last almost 40 years starting with the original ninja 250 in 1986. Ultra reliable and easy to maintain. Sure it’s not as “cool” as the aprillia, but if you want to track it, you can hammer the Kawasaki all day on the track and ride it home no problem without any worries of it blowing up. Can’t say the same about aprillia

@@pratmakis the aprilia as a brand so bad, cause I see a lot of people hating about it and some not, having fun with it.

"I could complain about the brakes but as a newer rider, I feel like you kind of need to learn how things are not supposed to feel so you can appreciate when things do feel premium and top notch". This may be the silliest thing I've ever heard in a bike review. What's next? Having beginners ride around on improperly inflated tires and lousy suspension so they can learn to appreciate a properly set up bike?

when will childish reviewers REALIZE that small bore bikes ARE not beginner bikes they are funnier than YOUR 1000 big D__K bikes .. experienced riders ONLY RIDE big bore bikes IS THAT WHAT YOUR SAYING .. I SOLD MY BMW HP4 BECUASE ITS USELESS on the road .. RIDING A ROUND IN 2 GEARS IS BORIIINNNGGG . small displacement makes shifting and riding fun .. SO STOP CALLING small displacement bikes BEGINNER bikes ..

ALL NEW BLANK SHEET ENGINE that makes the exact same power as a NInja 500, but probably far more likely to blow up and leave you with nothing after warranty. Pass

My guess would be they want it to be A2 license compliant, but yeah, I would definitely expect a Kawai to be bombproof compared to this. Still, every single Kawasaki I've ridden, apart from the ZX-6R, has felt so boring to me personally, so to each his own.

Is because they want to make it A2 compliant
