@motorcyclerewind another great episode 👏 Stuff always takes longer than we think, especially with the piston issue. I still wonder what caused the damage, a real odd one? Right, 2.30am, I better grab some sleep, like you could've done with in the vid! 😁

I think it was a fresh rebuild that was torpedoed by a massive crack in the intake boot. Got really lean and put a hole in the piston.

My zx10r dropped a valve last summer and yes i got a hole in piston, bent valve and to top it off bottom of cylinder head was gouged out so i needed a cylinder head also😢😢 but all is fixed now. Now i also have a 95 fzr600 with rod that went through lower cases. I personally view you as a fabricator because your vision goes beyond what you actually see in front of you and you make the changes yourself. 👍🏽😎👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽🏁🏁🏁

Really enjoyed the video. It popped up in my feed and seemed like something I might like. I did. One of the first things I noticed was the Spitfire in the background. My first car back in the early eighties was a 1970 mkIII. Between that and my 69 bug, they forced me to learn a lot about working on cars. I also noticed the F150 in the back. My first full size truck was an old ‘77 that I bought for $500. It wasn’t pretty but did serve me well. I would love to find another one. I look forward to the completion of this project. I am not sure about the 24 hour thing though. It is nice to have a chunk of time to work on a project because it takes a while to get your head in the project. But too long in the project I worry about fatigue impacting the quality of my decisions. Thanks for your work. Tim

A cool trick about cleaning up valves . I chuck the brush and press the valves into the brush as the drill press is spinning . I have good control of the placement where I want to clean the valves . The drill press turns much slower than a bunch grinder with a wire wheel and easher that a drill .

this and the 360 are 2 bikes I would never restore, rode them too much, had to work on too many of them, saw how bad the problems really were, notorious for breaking camshafts, if timing chain got slack, but seen too much slack happen before time for oil change, due to 1 of neighborhood "HEAVY" kids owning, and not good with shifting, so yes revving too much, leaving in gear too long, and breaking cam under 2k miles I made money building them, as found them cheap, stored them friends basement, had 20+ at 1 time, we mixed and matched parts, so how would you know what is correct these days, my friend always prefered drum brake, so we made him several, removing all disc brake hardware, while I liked disc better my best friend had moved on to "better" Honda" engines that wasnt as finicky, and I think there was 7 parts bikes in his basement when he died, I ignored them, he has been gone 15-16 years,

I like it buddy! I’d like to know what you think of my Honda 200twin l just finished all the engine cases. They had that factory Honda flat silvery gray paint on all the engine cases. Well, my friend gave me a dinosaur of an old heavy bench grinder. I bought a 10 inch cotton polishing wheel. Now all my engine cases and covers look like a mirror finish. It has taken me SO long to polish them after using an old can of MEK to remove the paint. It’s starting to look so nice. Ya know, I like your way of painting your chassis. Just a foam brush…wow and it looks great. Can you let me know where you got it? I’m going to use that method rather than making another mess of overspray in my garage. I surprised myself with the new vintage style tank I painted a duo tone. I’d like to have your opinion on my project. I was a Harley guy all my life. I still have a Road King but I’m 46 now with no help with my projects. So I’m REALLY becoming a vintage Honda fan because the parts are so light to lift and reassemble. Plus, I don’t know where my sense of style was all my young life. These Honda Twins and other old Japanese bikes are amazingly styled and so reliable. I restored a little 88 CR 80 to new condition and people are beating my door down to buy it from me. Must be the nostalgia because when I was a kid in the 80’s that particular bike was my dream bike but it was $ 1500 new back then and my dad could barley keep us going to school in Nikes and decent jeans. I love your channel and your taste. You offered to help me get my kickstarter assembly back in order. Now that my cases are all polished and ready for assembly ( with all new hex head replacement kits😅) I will probably be sending you my info you asked for to give me some tips😊👍🏻 You take care buddy and you and your family have a merry Christmas n Happy New Year!
