In this episode I am riding to the Cotopaxi volcano, and wow, it's spectacular!! Motorcycles are not allowed inside the national park, but luckily, this volcano is so big, that I get some pretty good views from just outside the park. I continue to Quito to get some new tyres. As always, when you are on the road, you can expect to get tyres that you really want. Instead, you just try and get your hands on any tyre that fits your motorcycle. In this case, I manage to get some Heidenau K-60, so not bad at all!

I remember the day my husband came into the kitchen while I was cooking lunch and asked me if I’d ever heard of a lady motorcyclist named Itchy Boots. He told me I absolutely had to see her videos. I finished lunch and went to you tube. From that time on it has been my most favorite pastime. That year at our family Christmas get together...our entire family got introduced to Itchy Boots as my husband turned on You Tube to your channel and hid the remote. Everyone was amazed. Today’s video, the conditions, and how you handle it all brings back memories of that young girl on her first trips through in-climate weather and conditions. My how you’ve grown..rider wise, video and camera work wise. You ROCK! Beautiful video today...thank you!

@@ItchyBoots Is there an abduction going on with the pedestrians in the crosswalk starting at 4:39? He has his arm around her neck and is restraining her left hand with his right hand. He also turns away from the camera as soon as he realizes what they are. She stares at the cameras until (maybe?) he tells her not to look. He has something under the back of his jacket too. They are again visible after you leave the intersection as they are continuing in the direction they were headed.

@@ladytradiej8027 I am really surprised that there is no talk here of that. The authorities should be given a copy of the raw footage from that time. Noraly edited out some of her wait at the crosswalk, footage that likely has a better view of what was going on.

Hi Noraly, As a volcanologist and an avid drone pilot, I was blown away by your footage of you riding with Cotapaxi in the background. Cotapaxi is a textbook example of a stratovolcano. You should check out the magnificent painting of Cotapaxi by Frederic Church that was done in 1862. It’s a great example of the Hudson River style of painting that was popular in the United States during the late eighteen hundreds.

@@calimio6 I think the painting might have taken some liberties regarding the actual foreground landscape. It was not unusual for Hudson River painters to exaggerate the nature of the surroundings to impart a dream like atmosphere.

If you are ever back in Cotopaxi, (Or if there is someone reading this) there is a Hotel that you should definitely take a look at, it's called "Hacienda los Mortiños" it's actually those white houses you can see at 11:09, It is for sure one of the most beautiful places around, plus food is great, people are extremely nice and you can reach it with your motorcycle :)

The best. The very best. I am just overwhelmed with the beauty of this volcano. I live at the base of a Volcano in Glacier, WA, USA, Mt Baker, elevation 10,780 ft. It too is active, second most active in the Cascade mountain range. The last eruption as I recall, was some 4,000 years ago. This volcano is about 15 miles from the Canadian border. You can drive to within 1,000 ft. of the top of Mt Baker. There is a very popular ski area at the end of the paved road. Last summer we had the highest summer tempretures ever recorded in the area, there were 3 consectuive days (105°, 107°, and 112°) in Glacier, WA. Much of the deep snow pack and the glacier melted. Then the area recorded flooding not seen in over 500 years. It was unprecedented.

Wow Wow it is the first time I can see this painting, Cotapaxi by Frederic Church that was done in 1862. It is incredible the one with the eruption. Well it says that if Cotopaxi Volcano erups will destroy not only a part of Ecuador but also will affect the whole world. It si so big. We grew up with that worry. I live in Quito just beside de Guagua Volcano that erupt in 1999. All the city of Quito was covered of ash. I cuoud see from my balcony the explosion one morning. That day was a totally clear day with blue skies. So imagen how we see the explosion. In several hours the city will coverd of ashes. Almost from the roof of my house and streets we fill several quintals of ashes. Thanks good the volcano stops. Whit this experience, Imagine the fear we had when in august of 2015 the Cotopaxi began to erupt. Many parts of Quito, Cumbaya and other places just abandon their homes. Thanks God nothing happend, just many days we could see and photographied a column of smoke from the Cotopaxi. We live in a city surrounded by the most powerful active volcanoes of the world and it is incredible how you get used to everything in life. Now the volcanoes are monitored all the time and I hope we can get out in time if one of them erupts. So in my life I watch three volcanos erupt Gauagua, TUngurahua near Ambato (where at that time I was working there) and the Cotopaxi. Now I think of thtat is incredible. I got such a nice pictures of them. I can remember that the vulcanologist in charge of monitoring the volcanoes lived next to my house. So we decided if he runs from his home we will do the same ha ha.

I've climbed the Cotopaxi and rode on car and bicycle all those roads. But now I'm an Ecuadorian that's been far from home for several years and this video made me tear up quite a bit, thank you so much for that amazing footage it warmed up my heart. I've been following your journeys since the Himalayan trip, and now that you're in my beautiful Ecuador makes me so happy. Although I'm not there I welcome you and go back any time thank you for showing my home to the world

Oh my, words can not express the emotion and feelings this work of yours elicits. Maybe a famous poet or writer could put it in to words this wonderful & Inspiring episode 17. I do not know what is more powerful, the view or your choice of music. Were I to die and fly along the ground as an angel, I suspect that would be close. A deep heartfelt thanks for lifting my spirits with you amazing skill and bravery! By the comments below mine, I am sure many feel the same way! I have watched many YT vids about folks traveling on two wheels. I think yours is by far the best! Your work needs to be put together in a compilation ( of sorts) , a treasure as it were,.... for your fellow man to enjoy and experience the planet in a most sublime and incredible way. For many the only chance to see what an incredible planet this is. May the wind always be at your back, May the sun shine upon you, May mother nature continue to protect and provide you with safe and industrious passage!

It doesn't always receive the credit due but the GoPro is such a capable camera. When filmed, uploaded, streamed and viewed in 4K, the results can be just stunning.

I often think Ms Noraly has done a perfect vid again, then on a new one, she takes her "art" up to a higher level with something like this one on 7 Jan!

The drone shots with Cotopaxi in the background, combined with that ethereal music, were so awe inspiring they made my hair stand up! Welcome to Middle Earth....

The yellow fruit is what we call "dragon fruit"...It's the fruit of a cactus...The ones planted at our fence have red fruits while the one you are holding is the yellow variety...... I love the video - beautiful volcano, snow covered near its crater... a very serene view... thank you!!
