Just come across your channel; and wish you luck finding a MH. Glad you walked away from the 2008 Kontiki 669 on a 08 plate. We had a 669 on a 09 and sold that back in 2016. Do yourself a favour and set to buy at any vehicle from 2016 onwards. That puts you in a Euro 6 engine. Your vehicle going forward will always then be compliant throughout the Uk and EU as there will not be a Euro 7 engine. As a result the van will always have a larger trade in/resale value rather than the dealer sucking in through his teeth and saying those Euro 4 engines are just not worth anything. Also an 8.7M van plus any bike rack is a long vehicle and many sites especially in Europe struggle to accomodate. Its all about compromise.

The Rucks have never had a Kontiki. I think you might be thinking of the Roaming Radfords but they didn’t have this layout and they had a tag axle.

Have you checked out the Rollerteam T Line 700? It ticked all our boxes, might do yours. 2 electric drop downs (that don't need keys), U shaped lounge, front dinette. 4 travel seats. Rear u shaped lounge turns into another double bed if needed so technically sleeps 6. Available in 9 speed auto with cruise control etc. We have a late 2022 one and we love it. Very spacious inside. Check them out.

Becoming more and more difficult to off grid with big vans recently, and as you are looking at tag axle vans you will find yourselves being being more and more pushed towards sites. I'd also avoid anything pre Euro 6 as the LEZ thing is only going to become more popular with councils. So many people thought we'd sway towards more aires in this country, in fact the opposite is the reality, park ups are disappearing en masse by the month. The government war on travellers (gypsies) has been taken up by so many councils across the land and is leading to increased bans on overnight parking.

It took us two years to find the right layout for us, please don't rule out european brands of motorhomes as they usually have much bigger water tanks than UK vans and the big garage on the back will come in handy. It's a long term purchase don't look at it like a car to have for two or three years look at it like buying a second house

If theres so many used Rvs on the lot that should tell you something there no good over priced and made poorly only made for weekenders not for living in

Fixed bed...no making it up...no waking people up if you get up first..privacy....big garage bonus...get awning like Travel Trolls for teenage boys, to have own space as now n then, as bieng in the back seated layout all the time will grate on them x
