Good job man. Looks neat. I have the offset intake without a boost bottle. Mines a mountain bike, and Ive gone through about 6 rims. I actually use a sprocket adaptor now. I bought a heavy duty 12g spoke tire that is pretty heavy, but sturdy. I recommend a sprocket adaptor if you havent already put one on.

Love the idea of two in one brake. When I want to stop Oh Gosh I have to go through a procedure !!! LOL. I have to secure the clutch first then push down the brakes.

i feel you i have to do the same thing i always just figured thats how you ride until i watched this lol
@meanderingmike76403 жыл бұрын
Not trying to be a dick but you do realize you are supposed to depress the clutch in when comming to a stop right? Regardless of a dual action brake lever or not you still have to depress the clutch or you will burn through clutches like no tommorow from just casually riding, its okay to brake the motor like that with the clutch at times but is never good to do everytime, puts extreme unneeded wear on your clutch pads
@TheNiibz3 жыл бұрын
Feel that makes sense.....i just build these , ride them a week or two while i have them listed for sale but that definetly makes a lot of sense just like using up brake pads easily u can wear the fuck out of your clutch pads too
@meanderingmike76403 жыл бұрын
@@TheNiibz exactly its no different than a dirtbike, you cant come to a complete stop without stalling and burning the clutch without pulling it in, let alone to take back off, i build and sell them too but i ride them alot aswell so i have alot of experience on the building side plus the actual field side, common riding issues and things like that. I can tell you these clutches can normally take a beating for the most part but its still like anything else, you abuse the piss out of it, eventually its gunna abuse you back and idk bout anyone else but when im wide open pushin 40 id prefer not to get launched over my bars from the clutch plate locking up and binding the rear tire, nty haha
@russ44543 жыл бұрын
My clutch never worked. So I have to slow down, hold the kill switch for five secs find the clutch pull it at the right time, then slow down a bit more, Then I am able to kill the engine

If you add some rubber on the stock chain tensioner it doesn't move as much. Plus add some locktite to the bolts or hot glue and the bolts wont come out. My buddy has close to 1000 miles on his bike and the tensioner stays where its supposed to.

It’s bending your rim because the rubber shrinks after a while and gets loose. So then the bolts are just driving the torque right through your spokes. Every little bit re tighten your bolts. After a while the rubber stops shrinking but it happens a lot
@adamcolbertmusic6 жыл бұрын
These are all great tips. A tip about that back sprocket is: take the dust cover off the bearings, put the sprocket on (it will center up perfectly and snug), and DON'T use the outermost rubber, but DO use the inner rubber pieces -- this pulls the hub of the sprocket directly into contact with the hub of the spokes [metal-on-metal, essentially friction drive from sprocket-to-spoke hub; NOT cranking the back wheel directly by the spokes, but rather using the spokes as a "brace" to pull the sprocket inward against the spoke hub, and a fraction of tension (half??) directly on the spokes].
@adamcolbertmusic3 жыл бұрын
@The Colony Room - Private Drinking Club I mean don't use the rubber between the sprocket and spokes, and do use the rubber on the inside of the spokes (technically "inside the hub" is the coaster brake, but yes). So if you were looking at it from behind, I only used the "inner" or "right" rubber pieces (and 3 metal semi-circle brackets of course). The bike I used is a 26" Huffy Cranbrook. I have aftermarket wheels, still 26" but with heavy duty 10 gauge spokes, and I did it this same way when I transferred the sprocket over. It has worked well for me. Let me know if you have any other questions and I'll help if I can!

Where do you find the Engine Mounted Spring Tensioner ?
Nice video it was helpful. I install a high performance (HP) crab and used an intake manifold that is angled to the outside. They also make CNC machined sprocket that mounts differently but I'm not sure if it will help your bent spoke problem. I have an old beach cruiser that I rebuilt and added a motor. I haven't had a bent spoke problem. I've seen that spring loaded tenstioner you used sold on eBay, it's a good design. I've been thinking about making my own using a similar design concept that mounts to the inside of the cover. I'm still working out the details.

I my chain tensioner always go in the spokes :( , where do you find yours ? , it is really good !
Never used a tensioner in ten years and several builds- saves all kinds of weight and failure- you can tension the pedal side with a derailleur or the new 1/8 chain lightweight tensions (ebay-China) and then just set the motor chain tight, or you can match the chains with half links if necessary, but the motor chain usually stretches more than the pedal chain over time- so you might have to adjust the matching every few years.

Get a smooth sided high flange rear hub- Flip Flops are often like that and drill right through the hub- you need a sprock with the inner inner 8 disk brake drillings- these were easier to get a few years back before everyone started getting "top hat style" adapters and sprocks. You can then bolt the sprock directly to the hub- which gives a better chain line too usually- you can use shorter titanium bolts and save all kinds of weight.- and the sprock no longer even touches the spokes. and I recommend a 415 INDUSTRIAL TRIKE chain- same 415 size with shorter plates- it weighs less than half the 415 weight and rolls much smoother.

1:15 Just a safety concern. The rear axle looks like it is hanging on the frame- I don’t know what the term is--where the rear axle bolts on the frame. It just looks like it is going to come off once you go WOT on the throttle. I would add a couple of 415 chain links on the motor side if it was my bike. Just to be safe.

I suggest turning your boost bottle the other way around to take better advantage of the shape also remove the acorn head nuts and use couplers. Then make an aluminum cover to direct more air across the head for better cooling.
@charlesedwards10794 жыл бұрын
These are really impressive solutions, what i did though for the air intake (stock didn’t fit my frame as well) i used a cap of a lysol bottle, cut out a portion of the top, screwed it in with a stack of washers on it and stuck a cut piece of fuel cell foam as my air filter into it, it works great and definitely improved the power i wouldve made stock
@adamcolbertmusic3 жыл бұрын
That's an awesome air filter idea! Mine fit stock, but I made something similar (though don't use now, but still have it) with a peanut butter jar including lid. I made 2 mounting holes and a large intake hole in the lid, cut out the middle portion of the plastic jar and sealed the top and bottom jar pieces together, stuck foam inside, and used an awl or nail or something to punch hundreds of tiny holes (this took the longest lol). So, you have to mount the lid first by screwing it in from the inside with those 2 long screws that come with the stock filter, then you twist the shortened peanut butter jar onto it. But nowadays I use the stock filter with holes drilled into it. This was just something I got creative about.

They make Adaptors for the sprocket that connects to the wheel hub
@meanderingmike76403 жыл бұрын
Absolute pain in the ass finding ones that are true machined and fit up correctly though, either way you go your going to have to make modifications 95% of the time, like mine i had to shave in between the hub adapter (where it sits flat against either side when fully tightened down) because it wasnt able to tighten down enough, causing severe slipping issues, luckily caught it before it destroyed my rim
@meanderingmike76403 жыл бұрын
But hands down the best shit ever is mag wheel setup, their pretty damn expensive but hella worth it, bout 150$ for a set and the sprocket bolts directly onto the hub from factory, only downside is finding an adaptable disc brake setup for it because you cannot use rim brakes on them
