Great video and very clear... I've done a few screen replacements before but this was my 1st time having a replacement screen arrive without the front frame pre attached so was also a great excuse to buy a heat gun for my toolkit 😀 Many thanks to you!

Hi Kruno, I bought a G4 screen plus frame replacement from the ebay link you supplied above. However, it comes with only a single 40-pin connector, where the old frame has a second smaller connector (10-12 pins) next to the big connector (mentioned at 1:52 in your video). Do you know if this is a problem? Do I need another replacement screen or will the phone still work completely once I install the replacement? Thank in advance for your help.

Tim Knigge i dont know but it must be the big one and smaller, i ordered and get same like original one, better ask seller, maybe they sent you something wrong :/

@@KrunoEti K thanks I have asked the seller. There is a funny thing with your video though, the broken LCD that you take off between 4:28 and 4:40 seems to have only the large connector. At 4:43 you can clearly see there is no second small flat cable and connector left. Then you put on the new LCD which agains seems to have only one flat cable attached that you have to put through the frame. Having done that at 5:14 the second connector suddenly reappears. I think I will separate the broken LCD from it's frame to see where this second connector is going, maybe it is not even attached to the LCD and it is possible to used the old frame with the new LCD.

@@KrunoEti The replacement I got delivered already has the LCD glued to it's own frame, so the situation is a bit different than in your video. But do you have a comment on my earlier observation about your video? Do you remember if indeed the LCD came with only one connector?

It was a long time when my replacement did, just remember that my old lcd is glued and must remove it one part by one, we did it all like in video, and phone is using and works still right now

Thanks, used this as a guide to replace my screen that had started to delaminate from the inside. Mine is one of three phones my family has and motorola/lenovo is making junk. Mine had the screen defect and periodically tells me SD card is missing then finds it a minute later. Wife's GPS doesn't work most of the time, mine doesn't sometimes, and daughter's sometimes won't get texts util a day later. I'll be able to hold off now on having to buy a new phone, but I can tell you the next one is not likely to be motorola.

Makes removing screws looks so easy... half of mine were horribly over tightened and impossible to remove.

i just finished changing the screen on my XT1609 but the problem is still current. The touchscreen is not working at all. Is it the new screen that is malfunction or its something else i need to know . Thanks.

Dragon slayer you probably something do wrong with your speaker, lost connection, you must look at this part, it is really hard to tell me

hmmmm every time I put it in a different way no sound comes from the phone ( my phone is the Moto g4 play but it's a little different than the one in the video) what shy I do?

Dragon slayer you have no solutions than go to service and fix it. If speaker is not working at all, you need new one. Thats what will I do, it is very hard to tell me from here something really smart.

@@KrunoEti connectors on the mother board, the ones that have to be removed! Are they glued to that board and then I have to glue them again? Sorry it's my 1st time trying to change my screen.

Juan Adolfo Vaquera no, they not glued, you have to pop-in again, and one that stay last and glued to housing also not, have enough glue at the place so you can stick it multiple time without using new glue.

Great tutorial. When removing the main board, a tiny soft silicone piece with two holes dropped out. It seems like a cushion or something for the buttons to spring back....however, I can't seem to figure out where it goes back. Does anyone have the answer? @@KrunoEti , I think it's cheaper to just buy a new phone because between time and cost of the new screen is about the same as a new one And usually comes with a full warranty

Dan Logicalogically Thinking screen is very cheap, i dont think that for that price you can get it new phone
