Short video of the capability to radio to radio clone Motorola Jedi series radios using a cable alone. Note this will not work with the MTS or MTX series radios and both the source and target need to be same model, band, and revision.

Thanks for the video. I knew these were cli able but I’ve never seen it done. Can’t believe how quick it is too. Those old JT1000s are great radios. I remember when those were cutting edge. Seems like it wasn’t that long ago either.

These are excellent radios for that. The cables are really easy to make. These are absolutely the best batteries still made for this product line gtspower.com/products/two-way-radios/batteries/ush7144-m27/ Not the least expensive but they are worth it. Thanks for watching !

@@rickmaudlin2160 You are welcome when I recommend a product it is something I have had experience with and GTS is the premier manufacturer of these batteries . The amazon / ebay batteries are awful IMHO.

Excellent video as usual. I was just doing a couple dozen HT600/P200s last night. A box of HT1000s are next. JT1000s are excellent. Wish I had more. Love the FPP ability.

During the intro, you used the phrase "Jedi series radios". Can you elaborate on that? I am just starting in trying to get some Motorola legs under me and my current understanding of Jedi is simply as a connector. That phrase leads me down a train of thought that Jedi actually a radio architecture that various lines of Motorola radios are built upon. TY Brett, your vids are always appreciated.

This series of radios HT1000, JT1000 MT2000 MTS2000 & many more models using the same physical design are commonly referred to as the Jedi series . They were the first products to use a clamshell battery arrangement and a snap together fastenerless design . I have a video explaining complete disassembly of this generation of radio. kzfaq.info/get/bejne/acdoq5uUv-CdfXU.html The direct predecessors to the Jedi series was the Saber series and the Genesis series (HT600 , MT1000, etc.). The generation after the Jedi is the Cosmo series (XTS3000) . Thanks for watching !
