great video , i bet someone at the back got alittle wet when that propeller was going at full speed , hahaha , one thing i don't understand though , is , why is'nt the propeller lower down in the water , it always seems like alot of wasted energy when the propeller is going full speed & throwing out so much water , being so high up . lori

Well, the ship just isn't heavier. If you'd want the prop all the way down in the water, you'd have to take in balast-water. Taking in balast-water is also done to get under low bridges. That said, ones an emty ship is up to speed, the prop-wash mostly settles down.

@@EdFrankes , oh i see , it's just that , on hire boats the propeller is about 2feet underneath the boat , & they all are , & they're just light fibreglass boats .

@@lorithorpe3502 Yes, that's treu, but yachts don't have to take a real load like freighters. ;-) In the video you can see the difference between a loaded ship (mine) and an empty ship (the smaller one) .

6 Cilinder zie ik staan op het plaatje, helaas weinig gegevens van deze motor kunnen vinden.

De Stork in de Gruno (nu "Fryslan") is een 8 cilinder. Ik moet toegeven dat de opname een stuk beter had gekunt. Maar ja, achteraf...

@@EdFrankes opnames zijn altijd moeilijk in machine kamers maar iets meer gegevens erbij zetten moet toch kunnen volgende keer, wel gave opname... zie mijn laatste up-date van de DEO VOLENTE de gegevens heb ik wel op internet gevonden.. jij stond er naast.

op 6.09 minuten zie ik inderdaad 8 cilinderkoppen mooie video, helaas is het altijd wat donker en wazig van dampen in machine kamers..

Het schip is door verkocht en is geheel opnieuw gelakt.
