Agree my hope for the region is that they break their colonial chain ⛓ and along with the Spanish speaking countries in the Caribbean come together as a trading union, much the same as the European Union. Together as a trading Union they would have a powerful financial voice, and a much needed boost in their individual wealth, health, education, overall infrastructure structure. That region of the world has so much to offer but has been left under developed and ignorantly relying on the tourist trade and small local shops to keep stagnant economies just above water. The Caribbean is capable of much more. A united vision and forward thinking would make a huge difference and bring a wealth of opportunities to the the region - if they would just think big.

She spoke about the destruction of the corral reefs. Barbados being a vacation destination needs to stop the use of sun screening just like Hawaii has done. The same problem was in Hawaii. The chemicals are covering the corral reefs from receiving sun light causing them to be destroyed. Very sad.

Billionaires aren't going to save us. This system needs to change drastically. Don't fall for this new Cold War propaganda by the US. That's why I wrote about Amanpour being an ally to US hegemony upthread. She's a propagandist for US anti-human interests. The Caribbean should definitely partner with China but control the terms. It's the US and the West that have been abusing much of the Caribbean for decades. Look at how they're wasting Puerto Rico away, a US territory. If the US doesn't care about people under their jurisdiction, what makes you think they have anything of benefit to offer the Caribbean? From Cuba, Haiti, Jamaica, Grenada, Panama (considered part of the diaspora), Dominican Republic, etc., it's been the West that has caused a lot of harm. Now, you fall for the China disparagement when the Caribbean has always had great relationships with Chinese people for decades. The Caribbean is full of Chinese people who have raised generations of family there. Do not follow the West down this road. Aren't you tired of the same script at this point?
