The Prime Minister of Barbados has called on the international community to recognize that a world that reflects an imperialistic order, hypocrisy, and lack of transparency will not achieve the mission of ending poverty and bolstering development. Mia Mottley was addressing the United Nations General Assembly in New York where she made the case for reconstruction and development to be appropriate for the century in which we live, calling also for long-term financing of development, particularly in the context of climate change.
She lambasted the lack of progress towards Security Council reform and urged the G7 and G20 to be more representative.

This woman is a 'phataka' ...a leader who remembers what it is to rise from the bottom...like she said UN is not valued if a few selected continue to hold power but do not follow through their own words ....the big 5 of the UN are the main causes for the problems around the world past and/or present

Make the world a better place. G7’s pressures on developing nations have driven its people further into impoverishment.

Stand up and fight for your rights, respect to brother Bob M. We must fight for everything we get because the false colored people don't want to change their ways. Speak sister.

Her comment on the composition of the Security Council will not be taken seriously by the five permanent members. Why would the United States surrender its veto power and permanent seat for small less industrialized countries?

You're probably right that the P5 may not take her views seriously. But, why must 5 countries have the power to decide 'world security' of 178 (MS) other countries? Is it equitable for any single country to 'veto' the collective position of 178 other countries? This, perhaps, should have formed the second limb of your comment.

@@ebrahim199 I delibertely left it out because the point is self-explanatory. There is no equality among nations in the UN and will never be. Therefore, the question for small countries is not, 'Do I criticise, criticise, and criticise, angering those whom I rely in for foreign-made goods and tourism?'; rather, it ought to be 'how can I work within limits I cannot control?' You should have seen this between the lines, sir.

@@dillonconstantine2411 "There never will be". The veto power is precisely one of the reasons countries are not equal within the UN. Wonderful example of the difference between those that want change, and those that hide behind a cynical pragmatism that belies reality, in order to maintain a status quo that benefits them.
