Thank you for posting this. I messed with mine for 10 - minutes before giving up on it. I had the old style motor housing and was sent the new style via warranty claim. Moultrie should have never messed with it. They took something that work flawlessly and made it more of a pain in the a$$ than anything

Agree completely. The original Magnum feeder was awesome, this new design is horrible. Glad the video helped!

I agree. I returned and bought a Pro Hunter II feeder and like it much better. I wish Moultrie would have just stuck with the Pro Magnum as it was much better than the Super Pro Magnum.

What you don’t bother to say in the video (and what they don’t bother to tell you in the instructions) is that you need to click the bottom plastic nut only once to the left. It will click a second time to the left and at that position it will not come off regardless of how hard you try to pry it open. Once you figure that out, it’s really not that hard to get off. But it’s still an idiotic design.

I agree. This thing is not an issue at all. And once you are putting it back on and have it pressed down onto the grooves, just turn the plastic ring nut slightly and it pops right into place, and then you can turn it clockwise and easily lock it. You're making waaaaay more out of this non issue than it is. 😂 That being said, all they changed was the timer. They upgraded it to the Universal Digital Timer II from the original, so I also don't know why they had to change it. Maybe to justify "changes" and "upgrades" to correlate with extra cost to consumer?
