A hike to the summit of the highest mountain in Victoria, Mount Bogong. This hike involves an elevation gain of approximately 1,300m (around 4,200ft) over about 9km from the Mountain Creek campground to the summit of the mountain. A real leg burner but totally worth it for the incredible views.

Thanks Jake! I know, I got distracted chatting to another guy who reached the summit the same time as me and forgot to do more filming up there! Guess I'll just have to go back again sometime. 😉

Thanks heaps, Amy! I know, was only a short video as I didn't really film much on the way back down. It ended up being a bit of a change of itinerary and rather than a circuit we just did an out and back, camping overnight at Bivouac Hut campsite.

Thanks mate! Amazing views in all directions from up on the top. Was fortunate to have fairly clear skies and only very little wind on that day.

Nice work again, Chris! What a beautiful view from the top, eh? I'm sure the weather's not always quite like that, though... :-D

Thanks Mike! Yes, I really was fortunate to get a pretty clear day up there. I was speaking to a guy up on the summit who had made it this time around after having to turn back on his last attempt in very bad weather when there was a complete whiteout and driving rain.

Had to make a change of itinerary on the fly as the mate I was hiking with wasn't able to make it to the summit and stayed back at the Bivouac Hut campsite. I ended up heading back down there after summiting and we camped the night there instead. He had told me he was happy for me to press on to Cleve Cole Hut on my own for that night and do the Eskdale Spur descent the next day and we meet back at the car that following day. But it was a chance for us to hang out for a weekend together so I'm glad we got to do that. It'll all still be there to film on another trip and has given me a reason to go back and have another crack at it. That was the reason I changed the format of the video as it ended up being an up and back instead of a circuit.
