MOUNT YAMNUSKA!!!
This made for such an epic morning! We started at the Mount Yamnuska trailhead near Kananaskis Village, Alberta, just before 6am. We reached the ridgeline around 7:15am and set up to watch the sunrise. It was one of the clearest, calmest, and warmest fall days I have ever seen. After enjoying the sunrise, we continued up through the fun chains section. We also chose to add a more advanced scramble section which, while a bit sketchy, does make the route much simpler.
Thank you so much to Matthew Lemoine who's comment is the reason this video happened. Please comment more suggestions and I'll be sure to knock them off the list.
Mount Yamnuska Hike Info:
Drive west on HWY1 from Calgary towards the Seebe exit overpass (this one is just after the one for HYW40). Head north on this highway which will connect you to HWY1a. Turn right to go east on HWY1a and drive for just a few minutes before turning left into the parking lot (signs are well posted). For more info on the trail itself, I'd encourage you to read some web forums to get a good sense of the route. And make sure you're prepared for possible injuries, weather changes, etc.
