Free Lunch is often considered GJ's hardest trail. However that's a myth, you can ride free lunch as a challenging advanced trail minus the Big 3 8 ft. drops. that do make it the most technical trail in GJ. Be sure to read the signs and follow the rules. These lines won't win you a race, but allow the viewer to get a glimpse at a trail that isn't worth writing off the list. Also consider taking Puckerup/LemonSqueezer or a blue trail equivalent trail like Tabeguache or High Noon back to the car as a way to streamline your downhill ride. If you're into the more difficult enduro track, checks out Nate Hill's Free Lunch video with the trail being ridden with the actual intent.

I rode that trail a couple years back basically as a novice/ intermediate rider and loved it. Had to walk a couple spots but was able to ride almost all of it.

Noice! Ran out of vacation time last Memorial Day in Fruita and didn't make it to Grand Junction trail systems. We ride hardtails so I get ya Crashing Dad about the value of this edit personally. The Ragley will be just fine but I suppose I'll 'stress test' my new NukeProof Scout build! Lovin these aggressive Irish hardtails! Great info man! Thanx!

Bummer! But still you could spend a whole week here and have more trails to check out! Knowing Sheyn, I think he has done just fine on Free Lunch on his HT! Sounds like you have quite the fleet! Thanks Scott!

I plan on riding ribbon into lunch loops for the 1st time next Wednesday to start off an epic bike trip. (Traveling from north Idaho). I only have one day in GJ before I hit Moab. From studying your vids and trail forks it looks like I can connect ribbon up lunch line to Free lunch down to pucker up down to moto. OR after ribbon make my way to gunnector to Gunny Loop. I guess I'm looking for the most fun way down. Before I go hit Horsethief in the afternoon. After seeing you vids I feel we are similar riders with similar capabilities. You recommendation would help plan my day in GJ. I'm stoked!

Sorry Woods, been away from the computer the last couple days. You can connect Ribbon each way you described, Ribbon-lunch line-free lunch-pucker-moto (or sub holy cross) or Gunny. The more fun way depends on what you want, Gunny is more flowy some rolling tech, whereas Free Lunch plus Pucker has alot of fun drops and extreme chunk. Me personally, I like Free Lunch and Pucker because of the drops and the fact it just bombs down to the bottom. I wouldn't rule out Holy Cross though after Free Lunch!

This is awesome! I've been wanting to take my hardtail out to Free Lunch... It's nice to know the B lines! * What are you using to record your voice over audio?

Yeah man, I was avoiding it until I saw the Nate Hills video and then realized I could take easier lines and avoid the Eagle Wing lol. I was using the voice over on my computer (mac). Can't say it has very good quality, but I can at least edit the voice recording over not being able to edit whatever I'm saying on camera.

RC LeFevre - nice! I started doing voiceovers with the "voice recorder" app on my phone (in a clothes closet to take out echo).. then emailing the file to myself to import it... Then I did some with the GoPro mic... Just sat in front of me... Then I would just pull the audio clip off the video, and use that... I got the $50 Blue Snowball USB mic, and that's working ok.. better if I wrap it in a blanket, and put a pop filter in front of it..... Now I'm trying a lapel mic... straight into the GoPro. Cheers!

That answered a bunch of questions for me, especially considering I was super impressed with your voice over for your videos. Let me know how the mics are working out, you might enough need to do a video on how to make sweet videos! Thanks Shane!

RC LeFevre - my voice overs definitely aren't as good as Skills with Phil or Seth's Bike Hacks...but they've spent thousands on voice recording gear... The mic they use us a $500 mic! 😂... But Trail Features helped me out... Recommending the voice recorder app in a closet...

lol I guess that's why I like to watch those guys too! Its such a science! The tech involved is incredible. Then we have to run into the real issues here on how to spend our money, bikes or mikes lol. Of course I noticed that I do watch based on good content, which Seth, Phil, and yourself are excelling at.
