Step into Rwanda’s beautiful Volcanoes National Park, where a community is uniting on the front lines of a region in crisis to protect critically endangered mountain gorillas. Sir David Attenborough takes you through Dian Fossey’s journey of setting up the Karisoke Research Center in the park, where nearly a quarter of the world's 880 gorillas remain. Today, the Dian Fossey Gorilla Fund International continues its conservation efforts to protect a diminishing gorilla population threatened by poachers. Produced by Craghoppers, this powerful film takes you behind the scenes, uncovering the story of the devoted trackers risking their lives to save a species.

She has been in Rwanda rest of her life and made our country known all over the world due to how she took care of mountain Gorillas, her nick name was in kinyarwanda named Nyiramacibiri, she was finally found dead in his tent killed as history described, she is our legend also created Karisoke institution of research ,hotels and museum are now available for her legacy, she left early while the world need her mostly, let's all protect wild life and take care to mountain gorillas against poachers etc.

They are one of our closest relatives. They share 98.3% of our 🧬 DNA. I have been so in love with 🦏, 🐘, and 🦍 for many years. These beautiful creatures are more like us than we could ever imagine. They deserve to be left alone. They need to make trophy hunting illegal, they need to make ivory trade illegal EVERYWHERE, with extremely stiff poaching laws. Especially if the animal is on the endangered species lists. Like I am talking decades in prison, huge financial fines etc.

so ironic. the gorillas that we humans called 'stupid , ferocious beasts' did not harm Dian at all. It was humans who killed her...

They are far from stupid. They are one humans closest relatives. They share 98.3% of our DNA 🧬. They act just like us. Their facial expressions, they way they walk standing upright, the way they take care of their families, they have emotional intelligence and have been known to show love to humans they trust. They in my opinion, are better than us humans.

yeah I totally agree. It would take alot of someone to care that much for anything. Luckily it works through a business point of view as well its just the poachers who don't get it. It makes more sense to keep these animals alive for the tourists who spend money to travel and see them.
