Commenters Tip. Thanks for your info vids. I liked the one of 7 "contributor" ideas. Here's one I dont see people mention. Very useful early on. Obviously, mark things on your map, especially respawning resources (mushrooms, etc.). I "single letter" (M = mushroom, ...) then TWO spaces then the number of resources, e.g 4. Always mark the number AFTER you have picked up all the resources. Sometimes you see more, other times (especially with thistles) you only know after picking them up. It becomes are "key press" habbit. E.g for 5 Raspberries: m, R, space, space, 5, , m (end map screen). Very fast. Then once an area is well explored you can plan a route which will pass by the resources. Use your hoe to mark the path by "pathing" it. Then, label on map the start of path location and its total resource gathering (M 12, R 8) etc.. It takes a little time to do the pathing, but then it becomes trivial to again, and again "farm" the resources. I call these "labelled resource path loops", and loops they should be, coming back to their start or close to a base, portal or other well trodden path. This can be extended to other resources obained from animals. Good for necks, or leeches etc.. Go there, kill them all, and they'll respawn. So, label it. Labelled, pathed, marked, respawn resource loops. Using these becomes a "double up". E.g I need some leather, thus deer. Okay, use a high rasperry loop, collect raspberries and watch for deer. Then, you get some deer leather and the other resources. And, these gathering excursions become a little "chill time" between more active pushing of the game progress. Have fun.

Best thing about the crystal battle axe is actually its spirit damage. Really cool when you fight some draugrs and light them up...

Kysen, please, use your hot keys. It’s much quicker than opening your inventory, clicking on what you want to equip, and closing your inventory. It might save your life based on how much time it saves.

Fenring note: They jump and land right in front of you. So if you wait until they are crouched and ready to launch, just step sideways and hit them when they land.

Thanks for the combat guide on Golems. They give me the most trouble besides wolf packs

A lot being said about hotkeys. So, my setup, 1-weapon, 2-shield, 3-bow, 4- axe (mainly chopping wood), 5-whatever you use at the time (hoe, poison resist, etc), 6-hammer-building, 7-pickaxe, 8-meginjord (I use inventory for wishbone but when time to change to more carry weight, easy- just a quality of life thing for me). It really helps to just be able to go from Bow to melee by hitting 1/2. BTW, love your content.

The special attack of battleaxe has a 4x stagger boost so using that attack makes it easier for it to make its own openings for some mobs

Hey mate, enjoying your videos. They're very laid back and are explained well. I don't like how a couple times you've streamed elsewhere and we've missed out on here. You're creating a story for all of us to watch and enjoy and make it feel like we're playing along with you. But It's like reading a book and finding out a whole chapter has gone missing. I can't speak for others, but I don't have the time to sit and watch a 3+hour stream anymore. It would of been best to keep this let's play world for your youtube and created another for your stream. Besides that mate, you're doing a really good job and I've been enjoying your content.

If you don't feel up to tackling a Stone Golem in melee, you can take them out safely with a bow. They sometimes spawn near Silver deposits and if you're not ready to tackle them yet, they can keep you away from mining. The trick is to know what they look like when slumbering. They're disguised to look like a rock pile but the tell-tale blue blotches in the 'rocks' gives them away. If you see one in an area you want to explore or mine, stay some distance away, pull out your bow and plink it. They don't wake up if you keep your distance, even if you're damaging them with arrows. They're resistant to pierce so I wouldn't waste high-quality arrows like Obsidian on them. Just pepper them with Wood arrows, 40-50 should do the trick. It's also a handy way to increase your Bow skill, as levels get harder to come by once you get into the higher biomes. I generally avoid them, though. I don't use the 2H axe and don't use crystal walls in my base design. So there's nothing valuable to be had from them. If I see one slumbering, I just skirt it without waking it up and move on. If I've done what I came to the Mountain to do and encounter one on my way back to the portal, I'll plink it for lulz and a Bow skill. But I'm otherwise happy to leave them be.

tip for the stone golem while its parried, u can do 2 quick special attack with mace which deals more damage

Hmmm....I would've though a stone golem's favorite cereal was fruity pebbles ;) I'm not in the mountain biome yet other than a few little forays with frost potions to get wolf drops and onions. I don't have the wishbone yet. I'm seriously happy to get the tips on fighting stone golems as there seemed to always be one wherever the onion seeds were at least in my game.

Have you tried the secondary attack on the crystal battle-axe? I think someone in your last stream said that was the reason it was good for chopping trees. Middle click makes it even faster, since it has a much shorter animation.

I haven't played with the crystal axe - not sure if even worth crafting although it is a newish item. Currently in full wolf gear and drake helm - just looks cool to me and works quite well in all current biomes.

Just curious, are you clicking on the weapons to switch them just to show which ones you'll use next? Because I always simply press the numbers of the hotbar slots which is much quicker.

A disclaimer in the beginning of the videos, that you know you frustrate your viewers with the constant mouse-clicking from your bag to switch equipment, might be great 👍 Could absolutely have made a difference in some encounters for you - it's why games have hotkeys 🤷🏼‍♂️ But apart from that bit of grievance rolled into an obvious tip to anyone not knowing it, I love your videos Kysen! You have a great way of explaining your steps and thought process throughout the game and it's just awesome! So put a big post-it note on your monitor saying something along the lines of 'click more buttons!' and you'll eventually get into the habit of it 👌

The Fenring seems to be s very vulnerable to the Crystal Axe and of course, upgrading it ti lvl4 kills it quicker

you said the ax you can block or parry but if you look at the stat sheet it has block and parry stats fairly good also.

I'm new to this game and have put only about 40 hours in so far. I've been binge watching your videos for the past two weeks and learning lots of cool stuff! I love the way you explain and demonstrate everything. If you need an idea for a new video, I'd love a general combat video. I'm just terrible at fighting and get flustered when I'm attacked. Some tips would give me some confidence!

Hey! just an FYI, that is a Fen-ring which is a play on the name of the great wolf Fenris. I wish you could get a black wolf hide from them as well as the fang.

Eating one onion gives you 40 stamina and turning 3 into soup only gives you 60 stamina?
