Moder is so damn cool, but I have second thoughts about fighting her. Mainly due to the lore behind her which... is still admiteddly pretty shallow, but out of all the 5 forsakens, she seems to be the least evil of them all, in fact, doesnt seem evil at all, just angry, scared and sad. ESPECIALLY since you're literally required to sacrifice her eggs... DAMN Odin what did she do to you to hate her so much?! XD

My last three fights against Moder, I took a maximum of one frost breath attack per fight. The original cheese method of killing Moder entailed digging a trench around her platform, staying in the trench and shooting upwards with your bow while her melee and frost breath attacks sailed harmlessly over your head. It works but the problem is that shooting up at her through a narrow gap between the rim of her platform and the edge of the trench that you dug is very tricky. So I adapted the method. I still dig the trench all around the platform. Be sure to not only dig down but to dig inwards. Her platform is suspended on a thin stone column. Dig inwards till you reach that column. That way, you can stay concealed under the platform, she can't hit you from above with her ice projectiles. I then make two ramps which connect that circular trench to the terrain around her platform. Prepping the platform takes a few hours max, which I do the day before the fight. I go heavy Stam as I will be peppering her with arrows, so it's Onion Soup, Turnip Stew and then either Sausages or Wolf Skewer for Health. My other prep is to craft 300 Obsidian and 100 Poison arrows. I place Obsidian arrows in quickbar slots 1 and 2, and Poison in 3. I have a max level 4 Draugr Fang for the fight. I arrive at dawn, clear out any Wolves or Drakes in the area, then spawn her. I just fire one shot as she flies around, then run down the ramp and under her platform. She'll hover over the platform but can't target you with her lethal ice projectiles. So, sooner rather than later, she'll plonk down on top of the platform. As soon as I hear the impact of her landing, I sprint up one of the ramps. And you must sprint. She won't hit you with her melee attacks as you leave the safety of the area under the platform but she can nail you with her frost breath. That's the only damage I've taken in recent fights. Once I'm out and into the surrounding terrain, I place myself a medium distance away from her (out of range of her frost breath) and then I start alternating between Poison and Obsidian arrows using the quickbar slots. My rhythm is one Poison arrow then three Obsidian arrows as the Poison DoT ticks down. She can't get off the platform so she will just sit there, glowering and roaring at you but doing nothing as you are out of reach of all her attacks. She'll take off again after a while. Then I run back under the platform, wait as she hovers overhead and then, when she thunks down on the platform again, I rinse and repeat. If she lands on the ground some distance away from the platform, again listen for the thunk of her landing and then run up the ramp which is further away from the sound. That again keeps you out of range of her frost breath. If she starts crawling across the terrain towards you, keep backing away as you shoot her. She moves very slowly so she won't catch you. Using this technique, I can start fighting her at 7am and be done and dusted by around 2 or 3pm. It's a very chilled, safe and easy fight. The max damage you will take is one frost breath each time you run up the ramp. But she maybe hits me with it once in every ten landings she makes on the platform. So it's trivial. If you don't have a maxed out Draugr Fang and decent bow skill, just take more Obsidian and Poison arrows, and also take your old Finewood or Huntsman bow as a back-up in case your Draugr Fang reaches 0 durability and breaks. For reference, I kill her with about 25% durability left on my Draugr Fang.

When you find you're boars are low on health like that you can give them some food and they'll heal up.

Something Kysen did but did not mention is that when building your portal near Moder, build it a ways away from where you will fight her. Moder will attack a portal if she sees it. I learned that the hard way.

After trying and failing multiple times to defeat Moder I finally was able to using most of the tips and tricks in your video!! Thank you for playing and making these videos! They are very entertaining and informative for Valheim. I have been trying to keep up with you ever since you started this Valheim Guide series. It's been fun learning and being competitive with you. I am not sure why it bothers me so much, and i know it is personal preference, but seeing you open your inventory all the time to swap weapons just bothers me lol. Good videos none the less though, keep it up! :)

I don't know if this was bad luck or if it's meant to happen but I will warn everybody anyway: seconds after Moder being defeated the game triggered a wolf raid and I was at her altar, so be cautious

Poor Boaris

I got my health potions in position 7 so I can use them quickly by just pressing the button. Disadvantage is maybe that one could accidentally trigger it. But generally I would recommend not using potions by going into the inventory and clicking. Also I find the Moder power pretty useless (I've been actually using Bonemass forever), but I killed her probably like 10 times already b/c the trophy just looks so cool and I put it everywhere. On top of that the Moder fight is a great way to level up Bow skills.

I think the poison arrows are her weakness.

Easiest way to spot the eggs is at night as they glow. just note down the directions at night and go explore next day.

Well I came across a good strategy after my first fight with Moder I beat him the first time with two people, but solo I tried using wolves and let me tell you sometimes he kills all 14 of them with one swipe so there I was fk my wolves are dead with a 98% Moder, so I ran back to my base BUT I had dug a square trench I could easily run around if your stam is good you just turn the corner right when hes blowing ice at you, usually he lands in the middle or right outside the trench so its hard for him to chase you down when he lands. Then I just hit him with fire then one poison for some reason changing them up ups the damage a bit, at least it felt that way, fker has too much health, fk you Moder.

As a Scandinavian where Vikings originally came from I believe you have to pronounce Moder as Mother. as it just sounds weird how you pronounce it seen from a scandinavian point of view.
