this song means so much to me. i grew up listening to this. this is the sound of pure childhood for me. it reminds me of my dad, how he wanted to teach me so much and help me grow. he died of cancer when i was 7. after that, i didn’t hear this song again until i was 14. i was depressed, barely clinging to survival, and at one point nearly tried to end my life. when i listened to this song again, something in me changed. it didn’t cure me, but it gave me a reason to get better. i think i realized that there was a chance i could be happy with life again. im 18 now, an age i thought i would be gone by. i graduate high school in a month, and im attending my dream college in the fall. i still have such a long journey ahead of me. this song saved me. this music video is beautiful. this song is beautiful, life is beautiful. if you’re reading this, you’re beautiful. i know that because you’re alive. keep on breathing. its an honor to be alive with you all edit: thank you all for the kind words!!

Not sure if he woke up in the middle of the night, but Wikipedia states that a friend called into the studio at 3 AM asking if Iz could come in and record, the guy said only if he could be there in 15 minutes. Thought of my mom as I'm doing a change of address for her at the PO Medical Center, San Antonio, TX horrible experience with both men who were clueless and demanding unnecessary items not required by policies and procedures. A lady named Dee stepped up and took over and I was right that all they was a Letter of Testamentary, not death certificate. I even cried while addressing this matter, came to my car sitting here listening his song that is quite uplifting and still in tears. The loss of loved ones are never easy, but they will forever live in us with memories left behind.

😢😢😢😢😢 ... It makes me cry every time.... He was such a loving humble amazing human being but could sing from his soul to touch yours... 2001 what was the first time I heard him sing this when I was driving to Nevada and then they used it in the TV show ER when one of the doctors died.... But the tribute is exactly what should be done a celebration of life.... Joy and happiness that he is still young and handsome and in good health and singing with the choir in heaven.... Selfishly a lot of us are sad that he left so soon way before his time.. thank you IZ... You continue to make moments of my life just so much sweeter.... I think of you quite often as I think of this song and I think I'm probably commented so many times since fb started..showing your light... Love you

I could have sworn it was him on the roof singing it, but that would have been difficult since he had died a few years previous.

After a few dog years, they sleep for longer periods of time and you will too. They were a GOOD DOG all their life and you both know it. It gets tiring being a good dog all the time, particularly when you get old and your bones hurt and you fall on your face and don’t want to go outside to pee when it is raining but they do because they are a good dog. So understand that after they have been sleeping in your heart, they will sleep longer and longer. But don’t get fooled. They are not “dead”. There is no such thing, really. They are sleeping in your heart and when they wake up, usually when you are not expecting it. It is just who they are. I feel sorry for people who don’t have dogs sleeping in their heart. They miss so much. Excuse me, I have to go cry now.”
