MOUNTAIN MAPLE RANCH 🍁

Күн бұрын

This took several days to complete, but it was worth the work. This project's final phase, and we are moving on to other essential work. We have an open season to do a lot of dirt moving and installing fencing so we are taking advantage of that to help manage this farm style a bit easier as we have lived here over the years.
Don't forget to follow us on Facebook or Instagram for pictures and short videos from this channel and ‪@MountainMaplewithaSideofranch‬ We showcase the fun we have and do little sneak peeks.

Just remember this when someone comments about manure slurry or any mix of manures/straws or any organics. Quote this2IT SMELLS LIKE MONEY TO ME". When I worked on farms and we would just spray it down with huge amounts of slurry right out of the lagoon it would smell ripe for about 4-6 days then it would be gone. When it came time to harvest the cobb corn as you moved across the fields you could always spot the bits that got miss as the yield monitor would just drop like a stone only to shoot up again when you got to a ripe spot. Best ever stuff for cropping fields. Thanks for posting. Enjoy the Tilling....

Pig manure and old pea seed had me giggling for no reason. I love watching both of your channels. Keep up the good work.

I love that you try to make the soil more fertile with organic matter. I grow a lot of plants in my garden and know that the soil is what you must work on.

Logan was a blur of white all over the place. It takes a bit for the pig poo to break down but with all the nitrogen fixers you added next year should be better. Laughed so had at the smell messing up the cooking. Enjoying both channels so much.

You should take the temperature of that compost pile and if it gets any hotter than 120 to 130 150, you should turn it. should be generating heat. It’s not composting until it’s steaming.

1st till a waste of time and fuel. Distribute the compost and do something else for 2 days. Attempt to spread with bucket, clear fail. Wait, broadcast your excess seed as well as oats, till again and walk away.

There is a big drop so I didn’t want to break my tiller. It’s more clear on the drone footage but I understand how it could be hard to see.

consider going up the road and backing down the manure or go up the road and down with the tiller
@MountainMapleRanch

It's hard to tell but from the top, the road shoulder drops about 5-6' in elevation and is somewhat loose. It would end up making a mess of the new road shoulder.

I’m just curious why you didn’t switch to using the H beam attachment on your excavator, to smooth out the wet 💩 on the hillside, after the tractor morphed into the struggle bus? 😆 I know “you gotta make hay while the sun shines” but, is there an approximate time table for the next phases of the shop construction? I’m more a builder than a farmer so I ask because I’m selfish 😂

I want to give you a proper response:) Thank you so much for supporting our channel so much we look forward to your comments:) on both channels. We have some big projects coming up now that we have gotten all the seed in. 1. We need the chickens to get under control they are all over the place and we need to contain them, we will be working on the upper pasture and building a HUGE chicken coop and a pullet area for the crazy chicks that are growing up. That is what is being filmed now. 2. The shop is getting started next week with tivec fix and header boards. We will measure and order our siding then and get all the materials gathered. 3. the driveway we will be also starting in a few weeks, we needed to wait cause we had survey that came out to make sure we had the right property line in place when we fence that area. Looks like we were off by like 50 feet, so we are glad that we got that surveyed, nothing worse than taking down a fence and re doing it. We like to have the videos show as much as completed project as possible so it’s fun to watch, but lots going on and getting filmed. Marc also took a few side jobs and some are filmed and some are not (privacy for the client) Again thank you so so much ~Ola (I answer most questions) lol

The root crop such as radishes will stay in the ground to feed the soil, above ground such as peas, or beans are ok. Most of the garden will feed our pigs, and soil.
