Let me know how the tires work out. I have the MTRs and only put about 12k over 20 months on my Tacoma. They are already pretty warn out. Not sure if it is the Texas heat, roads or the extra weight of the Tacoma. My MTRs on my Jeep usually get 30-40k in California. Don't drive the Jeep much here other than summer. Was debating on going to DuraTrac or something else.

The tire tech knew his stuff and was awesome! So many tire places are uptight and won't let you near the tire machines, yet alone video the process. Super cool! Lots of insider info in this video.

I have a 2014 regular cab with just 2 in lift and with stock wheels and 1.25in spacers 285s fit with just touching edge of mud flap, one day I want to get 35s

Got 35s on my first gen 4cyl, stock gears, marlin crawler clutch. Does 80 fine but mountain passes are 45 mph max 😂 low range is no problem

I went from 31s to 34s and felt a difference. I personally didn't have any clearance issues, but I also had an aluminum bumper at the time. Steel bumper and winch, made a need for cab chop and pinch weld reformation.

Lil B's makes a way better cab mount relocate. I have an 08 Taco with a BDS 6" Fox coilover package. Running 35x12.5x18 GY Duratracs re geared to 4:88.

I can't believe no one said it yet but the dots on the tire have specific uses. Line the red dot with the valve stem for steel wheels and the yellow dot for alloy wheels.

4.88 is really the optimal gear ratio people get w full armor and 35’s on a 2nd gen. If it were a 3rd gen then yes, 5.29’s.

Oh yeah, but the 35s are already looking natural to me. I saw my friend's Tacoma on 33s today and they looked small though.

@@Tacomaholic I do as well. The stealth blue only come in -38 offset which according to CSC they will poke 3 inches from stock. I already have a cab mount chop and some mild trimming, 2.5 inch coil over and Total Chaos UCA. I’m more concerned with having to do major surgery in order to fit them. Hahaha

@@HoldFastAndStoic The trimming shouldn't be too bad and probably needed anyway if you are running larger tires. Have you hammered the pinch weld flat yet?

My buddy "doublld" on Tacomaworld did the install. He works at Perfection Automotive in Sterling, VA and does side jobs for Tacoma stuff.

Yep still on the OEM shaft and no vibes. I did the carrier bearing spacer and my leafs are sitting on some axle shims though so it's really not that crazy of an angle.

4" lift up front (3" suspension + 1" body), Icon UCAs at 3" caster, super aggressive cab mount chop, pinch weld flattened

I'm curious too, im sitting on 265/75r16 right now, looking to upgrade. The regear is kind of whats keeping me from jumping to 35s. Keep us posted on how they do. Hopefully you get a stock gear offroad run before you regear

How do you take care of the odometer and speedometer issue when getting bigger tires?? That’s really my biggest concern with dealing with the dealer servicing and all that how do you keep the odometer correct??

Most don't do anything about it. There is probably some kind of reprogramming that could be done, but it's going to be expensive.

Splash guards on both side are removed and I've cut the fenders and fender flares on the passenger side. Will do the drivers side for the vid.

Yep all tires perfectly balanced. They ride great and are pretty quiet for an aggressive mud terrain tire. Highest speed I've done is probably 80.

@@Tacomaholic That’s awesome to hear! It’s hard to get tires over 33” at a perfect zero unless the machine is a little forgiving. I saw that your tire guy used a Snap-On machine that is very accurate along with top brands like Coats and Hunter.

It’s stupid to waste all the money in big ass tires that are not made for the asphalt. Plus is not good for the truck at all and waste more gas. Yea it looks cool but that’s it. This isn’t smart at all.
