That looks awesome!!! This build is coming together really nice. 👍 There has always been the argument (drive dog pushing on the strut barrel with a teflon washer or thrust bearing vs gap at the barrel end) The gap seems to be noisy sending the force up the flex shaft, the thrust bearing seems to work pretty good if it’s the same size or smaller than the strut barrel. I’ve always settled on the gap, I usually use teflon tubing inside of brass with as short a flex cable I can get away with. With is build maybe the teflon washers pushing on the transom for a quicker out of the hole shot. Just my thoughts. BGFL 👍

Man you are killing it. This is another top notch video. You had me biting my nails, is he going to use extended struts or short struts. I'm glad you decided to use extended struts, i really think that's the way to go. If it doesn't work out then you haven't lost anything, just trim everything up. I was also wondering why you went with 62mm spacing instead of 65mm. I saw you marking and I'm screaming...noooo you said 65mm. Just rivited😅. I think you made a suspenseful video. Thanks big b. @jimstone5339 I think I made the right decision with the extended brackets, too. I went 62mm because I didn't wanna put so much extra S bend in the stuffing tube, lower friction type deal. Ideally, you want a straight shot to the struts from the motors.

If you live by large bodies of water, marine supplier & boat repair shops may carry correction x I have yet to find corrosion x locally. CRC makes a corrosion inhibitor spray, but I'm not sure the exact name.

Why not take a piece of flat stock aluminum with 4 holes and extend the rudder on the cheap.
