Have you tried drilling a hole in the hub for the jam bolt once the offset is set? That seems easier than making a channel and key way.

Than the bolt will rub against the axle and probably at some point snap in half

Hello! Sorry for my English. Rubber rings provide cushioning. Depreciation will disappear with such a mount. What to do in this case? Depreciation is very important .

I've had great experience with the clamps I think the spacing is the part most people forget or over look or don't understand how a clamp works in the first place in my opinion that set screw isn't necessary if set up correctly

Yup, the spacing is super important. I’ve just started tapping in the set screw and so far it’s been good insurance.

Wish I'd had the screw option on mine.I used 1 that slipped and I tightened it enough that it crushed in the center of the hub and it still slipped.I ruined 2 rims by having spokes ripped out.Next time,I'll use a screw like that,and put a bab of grease on the tip of it to mark where to drill a hole for it and remove the mount,drill the hole,and put it back on and put the screw Into the hole.Just tightening a screw like that will still leave it possible to slide.Thanks for the idea Tony.

I drilled and tapped that set screw in there. There’s a video on it. I do that or cut a key way in there.

@@tonytaylor5087do you just drill in a little bit you don't go all the way through right

I think that that's hub adapter is the correct idea. I tried to mimic that top end Titan bolt. Under torque the unit still slipped. The best way ultimately as you know is to add a channel and a key way in the sprocket assembly. Truthfully I wish they would just come up with a better thing altogether.

Wrap your hub with a strip of rubber cut from an old tire tube and thank me later 😂
@SniperSpade

Cutting some double sided sandpaper exactly to fit/wrap around your hub in between the hub and adapter will help slippage. Give it some grit to bite onto. They sell it at plumbing supply houses. Us plumbers call its "sand cloth"

@@tonytaylor5087 i have that same rim and didn't use it cause it had a disk brake adapter. I always wanted to use it due to the free wheel. I guess that's next weeks project. Thanks 😊.

Is there a way to connect sprocket to shaft/hub without spoke mounting? That's a twice a year failure point. You would think some enterprising young lad with a welder would be selling rims with hard point flanges.

I just can't decide on this this. To me the CNC rear sprocket adapter looks superior in that it can hold the sprocket true and aligned so the chain doesn't come off when riding. But unfortunately unlike the rag joint which displaces the torque evenly on all the sprockets at once... this adapter instead puts all the pressure of torque on a much smaller axis and its all carried on one single bolt. Not to mention the danger of ripping out all the sprockets if it slips. So is this an inferior design to the rag when its all said and done, or is it really better? Would appreciate comments
@1949kf
@1949kf Ай бұрын
Rag joint is superior as long as the Rags are decently equal in thickness to allow the sprocket to run true and prevent runout

I cant find an adapter that has a locking bolt, even the one you have posted online doesnt have a locking bolt?🦧
@BeastyPLAYZ16
@BeastyPLAYZ16 Жыл бұрын
I don't think the lock bolt is necessary because it is already clamping the hub and of it gets loose the setscrew isn't going to do anything thing
