In this video we show a second way to mount the Bird Buddy smart bird feeder to our WBU Advanced Pole System. Using the flange that comes in the box with the Bird Buddy in combination with a pole adapter you can easily mount the Bird Buddy to the best pole system for bird feeders, the Advanced Pole System.
To mount the Bird Buddy to a Wild Birds Unlimited Advanced Pole System we recommend the following pieces:
The 4 ft Base Pole: order.wbu.com/...

Unscrew the top of a bird finial, that’s all you need for the adaptor. It fits perfectly into the Bird Buddy. Wbu usually always has finials on stock in their stores

Hi! I heard this suggestion from a couple of people and I tried it before I made this video. Sad to say my finial did not fit the Bird Buddy. Also, some finials don't unscrew. So, while I heard this could work I didn't find this was the case or a solution I would recommend. I didn't want to frustrate people and suggest that the adapter mentioned in the video is a better way to go.

I did this today. Found one in my local WBU with a finial that was screwed in. Unscrewed it and it fits perfectly in the Bird Buddy pole flange.

Can’t you just use the other end (receiving end) of the pole on top?

Which APS syatem did you buy...there are many!? Name of adapter? Tks!

Hi @ablubrd Great question! I addressed this in this video: kzfaq.info/get/bejne/gp2TmNCkl8zGj5c.html at marker 7:34. In that video i recommended the APS Mounting System (which includes everything but the baffle if your mounting using our combo flange). The Mounting System could also work in with the pole adapter as well. At a minimum you will need 4 pieces (the 4 ft base pole, the 4 foot pole, the racoon baffle and the pole adapter) and I would highly recommend also using the stabilizer (especially if you are mounting this feeder on a pole with other feeders). I believe the pole adapter is called the APS 1" Flange. I've always called it the Sky Cafe Pole Adapter. I hope this helps. Unfortunately the adapter is not available in all stores. My store would not special order it.

So all WBU stores are individually owned and operated and I cannot speak to the choices for all the stores. However the good news is there are well over 350+ stores out there and if one doesn't bring it in for you I'm confident someone else would- but you might have to pay to have it shipped. Or place an order online via MyWBU one the item is in stock and ask them to include it in the box. If you are in Canada we can help you out. Otherwise in the US there are there are 330+ options for you!

Just use the Bluebird pole

A good suggestion but the Bluebird Pole isn't ideal as it is only 5 ft tall and you cannot add length to it. Once installed that leaves you with 3.5-4 feet above ground which a squirrel can easily jump overtop of.
