Earl showed up here about 12 or more years ago as a full grown cat in his prime. He wouldn't leave so We gave him a home. I named him Ronald Earl Berry. I name him Ronald after me and Earl because...well he seemed like q cat of his quality needed more than just a first and last name. I started calling him Earl so folks wouldn't think I was talking to myself. Ron is that handsome gentleman with the grey whiskers sitting to the right of the fiddler..lol..I'm glad to hear you like our music..*ron

My Grandpop was a WV fiddler. I grew up in two cultures. summers in the mountains and winters in the flatlands. I saw the old time style of fiddling and the classical. As a reenactor of 1812 I studied on the earlier playing styles. Your Jim plays tin a baroque style in the way he holds the fiddle and the bow. That's where the Old Time stuff came from. And FIDDLE is and English word for that instrument. It was later that the Italian word VIOLIN came into use. so even the word Fiddle is correct. Carry on, brother fiddler.
