What made those managers successful in the past doesn't automatically get you a trophy in the future. I would argue both Maurinho & Conte were extremely rigid with their defensive style of football. You cannot invite the opposition to have a go and play counter attacking football unless you have top defenders who can sustain 90 plus minutes of pressure and Spurs haven't had defenders good enough since Poch time and previous.

Not really the club and owners are being called out if it was just one person you could say that but not continuously by different managers.
