Amateur golfer described Danny Maude's latest golf tip as possibly golf's greatest secret.
In this golf lesson Danny Maude reveals that if you start with your right arm in the correct position it can really feel like cheating in your golf swing. In this golf lesson Danny shows by getting the right arm in the correct starting position with driver and irons the golf swing just feels easy.
When you get the right arm in the correct position it helps you get a perfect backswing. In fact once you have locked the right arm in place Danny shows you exactly how to move the right arm perfectly with his signature dumbbell move.
But the golf lesson wouldn't be complete without knowing how to move it in the downswing. Danny Maude has you covered. There is no room for loads of complicated swing thoughts in the golf swing so you need something super simple and this is where knowing how to move the right arm in your golf swing is super important.

ABOUT DANNY
-----------------------
Thanks for stopping by. I created this website as a resource just for you to support you on your golfing journey as I know how tricky learning this game can be…to say the least!
I personally found learning the game too long and difficult in the early days. I read all the books, watched all the videos but my game was not improving. Then after studying various forms of neuro science, motor learning, psychology and personal development in less than two years I went from struggling golfer to the final stage of the Open Championship.
On KZfaq and my personal website (www.dannymaude.com) I will bring you the most up to date training, training that is getting tangible results for my clients right now. I don’t know where you are in your golfing journey, you could be just starting out or maybe your body isn’t as flexible as it once was or you’ve got ambitions to slash your handicap. Wherever you are I’ve created a place here you can learn, share your ideas, ask questions and get all the support you need to enjoy this great game.
Be prepared though. If its a quick fix you are after Im not your man. Here I will give you step-by-step advice that you can take straight to the practice ground and apply to the course but it will require you to get stuck in, screw up…a lot, practice some more and then watch those scores tumble
I’ve had the pleasure of coaching thousands of students all around the world and if you are up for the challenge and are ready to get in the game…LETS GO TO WORK!

Absolutely wish i could be a student and learn directly. I'm glad these videos exist at least. I only watch Danny as his explanation is simple to grasp and other creator tutorials have different techniques, so it's easier to maintain consistency learning from one person like Danny and not trying to mix several ideas into one shot from many different advices.

What separates Danny from other teachers is his breakdown of lessons. Other KZfaq teachers tell you what not to. Danny flips this on its head and tells you what to do. Then he breaks down how you do it, normally in three steps. The use of the positive rather than the negative truly distinguishes him from everyone else. Thanks for all your lesson breakdowns Danny.

You introduced this video with the spot on words for me as I finally had my irons working only to lose my feel for the driver, which normally had been my best part. Thank you Danny for getting me on the right track again, remembering the power created by the right side of body instead of throwing my trail arm at the ball.

Hi Danny, I’ve followed you for a year or more now and you are, without a doubt one of the best. However, as a senior golfer (mid handicap), I would love you to run your recent lessons with your dad. With slightly less rotational ability it’s not always easy. Your dad makes a great senior student for us more mature golfers to measure ourselves against. Cheers Danny. Andrew

One of the best videos you have made. After watching this I went to the practice nets at my club, it took me a few swings to get into the groove but the difference is unbelievable. My irons were inconsistent, I always felt I should be getting more distance and by doing this I'm getting a much more powerful swing with less effort. I wish I knew this at the start of the season, it's effectively one turn on the way back and committed follow through. As you're making an arc you don't need to concern yourself about where the ball is or what your wrists and arms are doing etc. You know you're going to meet the ball perfectly if your takeaway is correct. I've had a number of lessons but this has just clicked for me. I'm off to the range at lunchtime to practice again in the rain ☔.

This is just awesome …it validates one of my “corrections” …when I get “the shanks “in a round I always start correcting it with remembering to stop my back swing as soon as it feels like my left arm starts to breakdown/bend . And usually I can get through a round without making other changes , which I’ve found may be too much for mid round adjustments. Great lesson

I think ive almost mastered this technique apart from a slightly out to in almost curved divot although the shot is straight. The distance is a little short so I'll try looking ahead of the ball to straighten up the divot. I think the short distance is mainly my speed but will put that down to age 😢. Keep up the good work, Barry.

Thanks Danny. In Hogan’s 5 Lessons, I mistook his advice on holding elbows and upper arms rather tight against his sides, that one should keep the right elbow rather tight all the way up on the backswing. I see now from your video and my own practice that one’s right elbow needs to be more out at the top.

Love your videos! I have a question/observation that you may want to comment on in a future video. At 1:07 -1:11 you say "we are creating a circle around the body... and it works back to the golf ball here." However, the club doesn't just go up, around and back to the same position as at address. Somewhere in the process, your hips turn, because when you show the body at impact, the hips are turned. To put it differently: at address your hips are square to the target line...but at impact they are not. You don't return to the same position as at address. This seems like a very important point to make, and to talk about where/when in the swing the hips twist relative to the club. Maybe I'm the only one who wonders about this, but it seems like a good subject to address.

Thanks Danny. This, combined with the excellent advice from Pete Cowan, has helped me to understand the mechanics of a good golf swing in a way I never have before. It seems many golfers go out without even trying to understand the basics but those who do want to understand the fundamentals (like me) have been poorly served by masses of inadequate and conflicting advice, jargon and fads. You manage to keep it simple by sticking to the relatively small number of elements that really matter.

Great video! I have had some very good success with this. While I was practicing this I noticed that some of my shots were going to the left (right-handed). I had the thought - what would happen if I added some left-side pull to the right-side push? Aside from getting even more power/distance into the shots, this really straightened them out. What I also noticed is that if I favored the left side, the shot would fade. If I favored the right side - it would draw. Maybe your next video?

Great video again. Gotta say i also watch Andy Carter and guess why i like both y'all.....Pete !! You two teach his method and what i like you both put your unique touches. Since i really started applying your technique i must say the improvement is really coming along. Decent at 60 yrs old now my last 3 rounds in mid upper 70s and had some really bad mental flubs but holy crap take a double away n a few more pars and wow. My driving has really improved along with irons. Short game with you n Pete...omg... i have so much more confidence around the greens. Like new life has blown into my game i honestly believe i can have a sub par round eventually. That says alot for an older guy that i can improve soooo much! BRAVO Danny and company! If you have the (near) perfect arc with your arms in perfect position, as you come back through, if you're going for a straight shot or inside out draw, the club face stays open relative to its initial position. So what I'll sometimes get is a perfectly straight ball flight but just pushed to the right wherever the face is pointed. The only advice I received that ever fixed this (even if it's not great advice), was simply to swing faster as swinging faster closes the club face on impact. And it does, but it's still not really a release, just swinging faster which doesn't feel right. It would also be interesting to see a video on some more dynamic movement for faster swings. I guess some would call it timing, but really just eliminating as much shaft flex as possible that also ends up opening the face even with perfect static dynamics like shown in this video (unless you're one of those long drivers who like the flex shaft and doesn't care about consistency). I'd be really curious to hear thoughts on that

Great Video Sir, It's almost like throwing the right arm and body down the line instead of pulling the club through the line. We're leaning! And keeps the turn on the back swing pretty simple? Yet unlearning the weak elbow. Thanks again Sir.

It really look simple when you do this Danny. But I know from several sessions on the Driving Range trying this it is not that easy to change your swing after many years ☺. But I keep on pushing. Thank you - once again - for your wonderful videos.

Since making your pete cowen move/lesson I have been hitting my irons on the heel. I feel the power and consistency but need help with heel strikes. What do you think I'm doing? Thanks. I can't wait till I have this. I'm almost there.

Danny, u r such a great teacher, sorry u're not n the States (NYC). wish u would do a video on where a) head should be positioned at Driver address (& for irons); b) head/chin tilted left or right?; c) where eyes should be looking? look at Spieth v. Nicklaus. Left Eye dominant. i know want head behind, but given the positions mentioned, your video & explanation would go a long way! so many other videos not consistent or rarely focus on (a) (b) or (c) thanks for any consideration
