I have been suffering from tinnitus in one ear for over 2 years now. It was only recently that I discovered the possibility of occipital neuralgia. Your exercise has decreased the volume by over 90%. This morning I woke up to silence for the first time in years. I cannot thank you enough

Been suffering with this for 3 months and now I haven’t feel it in 2 weeks. Hopefully it will continue 🙏🏻 Here’s what I did & hope it will help you too. I did these Stretches slowly & carefully. I Watched my posture💯 & using my phone less as we tend to look down for such long time and gives a lot of pressure to our neck. Started sleeping on the floor it helped my back to align perfectly with my head when sleeping ofc. with the help of a thin pillow and another pillow under my legs to support my back. I sleep on my back the whole time it doesn’t give pressure on my neck. (It does hurt my back but now I’m used to it) Exercise, for now all I do is walk & run. Hope it will help you guys.💕🙏🏻

First excercise is so painful! I can pinpoint exactly where the discomfort is! Holly smoke! After massaging the area for several minutes i manage to do it with less discomfort to the point where it only feels as if my muscles are extremely tight! Thank you so much!! I finally found something to do with this that actually feels as if something is working!!!

Thanks for this! As soon as I did the first exercise (the chin tuck), I could feel where the pain was coming from! These exercises make me feel the appropriate stretches at the right points! Thank you! Such a weird pain - not the head…clearly where you have highlighted top of the neck. Very educational, thank you!

Thank you for this. These exercises do work. The chin tuck is extremely helpful. Although I don’t have this as a permanent condition, due to a poor sleeping posture, I can wake up with this aggravated nerve. It is honestly the worst pain I have ever felt. The pain is so bad, my body goes into a strange panic mode, causing intense nausea and projectile vomiting. You feel like you want to die to end the pain and nausea.

Thank you for your video. I am new to occipital pain. It's only on my right side - stabbing nerve pain. I loved the stretch with my hands behind my head. I have tried pregabin, muscle relaxers, aleve, steroid shots in my neck, cucurmin, etc. It went away for a month but came back. Currently waiting to get into my doctor for more shots. It's so irritating.

I keep hearing the neuralgia pain is sharp or stabbing. I have suffered with an itch that has been driving me crazy. In addition I have the pain behind the left eye and sometimes from the base of the skull over the top of the head. I will start these exercises tomorrow. I was just wondering if anyone else suffered with the severe itch. I have also lost a lot of hair, probably from scratching.

Hi, the video has been helpful. But I have been feeling discomort and tension around my head for about 4 months now. It feels as if a rubber band is wrapped around my head and its always tight. Almost like a rams horn feeling around my head. Its tight right above my ears on both sides, goes a little towards the top of my heads and then back to the base of the skull. What should I do? I have been uncomfortable and feeling this tightness all day long for about 4 months now and nobody has been able to truly help with answers or to resolve the pain/tightness. Thank you!

@tommydrivas Hey Tommy! I’m in the same boat as you. Same timeline have had pain and scalp pressure at times , seriously like a tight band! I thought it was my sinuses but none of the doctors have been able to get me relief. I’m thinking of a holistic approach at this point. Have you tried a chiropractor? Also what’s your stress levels like?

Hi ne kontam, have you had a vestibular evaluation? Typically, this is done by a neurologist, audiologist or ENT (ear, nose and throat). In some areas, a physical therapist may able to evaluate you and begin treatment if appropriate or refer you to another provider as needed. If you would like to talk further, please send me a private message via my website at movementfunctionmaui.com/contact-1 and I can provide further information.

Hi Beth, I’m posting this here, not really about this video but still wanted to ask and see what you say. Thank you I have done isometric exercises on my neck before but wasn’t consistent. I have one sided scapular/ribcage issues that still no one has figured out but it is causing cervical issues, big time. I’ve tried strengthening /stabilizing my shoulders which I need a d for some reason something is inhibiting my progress. I just know it would take the stress off my neck and I wouldn’t have to mess with my neck. However, still can’t find an exercises/s to fix that area. In the meantime, I guess I want to restart the isometric neck exercises. I was reading pros and cons of isometric neck exercises and came across this. Is this true and if so is there something diff I could be doing. I don’t like the fact it mentioned blood pressure issues maybe. “the cons of isometric training are: Nervous system fatigue. Cardiovascular system can be affected as well. Increase blood pressure. Affects coordination, and. Decreases soft tissue elasticity. Thank you
@MovementFunction
@MovementFunction Жыл бұрын
Hi LW, I apologize for the delay in responding to your question. I have not had any patient experience the 'cons' mentioned. I don't know where that information came from, but I suppose if one used a great deal of resistance and held their breath at the same time, the excessive isometric exertion could have side effects. In the video, I specifically included the instruction of using light resistance and continuing to breathe. With light resistance and consistent breathing, I don't see those cons occurring. Now, as with many other exercises, if someone has a history of cardiovascular disease, arterial blockages, or other significant issues, there could be side effects. If you have other conditions or concerns, definitely check with your doctor.

How do you incorporate these stretches in therapy for a fusion C3-C6?
@MovementFunction
@MovementFunction 10 ай бұрын
These exercises can all be done after fusion (after the initial healing phase, approximately 4-6 weeks post-op). Start with small movements and stop if anything causes pain. If you are already seeing a physical therapist, tell them about these exercises and ask for their assistance in weaving them into your program as appropriate.
